When the 13th Doctor meets the Daleks it should go something like...

Are you kidding? The women in my life talk like that to me all the time. But, beware talking that way to them, or I will kick some ass.

I think it should go something like this:

DALEK: We are the Daleks. Resistance is--
(stops cold when it sees the TARDIS...starts backing up slowly when it sees the woman standing next to it isn't remotely afraid of it)

DOCTOR: Yes, I know who you are. I've dealt with your kind all across eternity. I've seen your cruelty. I've seen your barbarism, the terror and misery that you've inflicted across the Universe. And you know what? I've stood against you and defeated you time and time again. On Earth. On Trenzalore. On Skaro. Across hundreds of worlds, I've sent your lot packing--and usually in pieces. So...do you know who I am?

DALEK: Retreat! Retreat! It is the Doctor! Retreat! The Doctor is here!
PERFECTION.

It doesn't 'upset me' it was just a point against my post being labelled sexist. The show itself is constantly sexist.

This is the same writer who had Rory make a joke about Amy only getting her driving license because she wore a short skirt (and how it was Amy's fault the TARDIS broke down, because she stood over Rory when he was messing with it).

It's also the same writer who has women get pestered by a man until they "see the light" and start dating/marrying them.

Moffat's roots are in relationship comedy and for him that involves sexist humour on both sides. It's not right, but he's neither a misogynist and certainly not a misandrist.

It is, imagine if a man said to a woman "don't think, you're a woman it looks weird." there would be absolute hell to pay, infact the show would probably be shut down.

Again: your point would carry water if all things were equal. But they aren’t.

Men still hold most of the power, still paid more for the same work, still get a pass on treating women with disrespect.

When one show, in one line, says something “sexist,” you are all in a tizzy about it.

Imagine if you spent time on the other side....

Game of Thrones, Big Bang Theory, all of reality TV and the news. There’s a lot more.

Update: Nobody goes to Trenzalore, but the thread will remain time-locked
