When Does "Waters of Mars" Air?

Still seems like a silly way to run a network.

Whats next? Fake schedules to fake out the competitors?

"Ha! Gotcha ITV! We'll actually be showing Tennants final episode NEXT week!" :D

There have been weeks in the past where I remember getting a TV mag and seeing TBA slots in the schedule. Which is stupid, how do the audience know to watch when it's not even in the listings.
It's not all shows that aren't scheduled till last minute though, it's mostly the major dramas and big ratings winners. And usually you know the time of year a show will be on, like the press release will say "November" or at least "Winter/spring"... then it doesn't turn up while summer.

Given that Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, and given that Waters of Mars looks--going on the trailer--possibly quite horrific, I'm surprised they're not showing it then.

Maybe they are going for that date but are deliberately misleading us to give us some joy?

Yeah, it's a reach. :p

Might be ratings suicide though, with all those kids and parents out there begging for sweets, etc.

Yes, they're going to show the programme with the highest number of young viewers in the UK on a night where many of them aren't going to be around to watch it.

They could show it before the sunsets. What time does the sun usually set in London in late October?

I don't know about anyone else but kids are knocking on doors from 5pm onwards on Halloween night these days.

^ Yes. And obviously they will be this year so they can be done in time to get home for X-Factor *sigh* This show will very likely not be on Halloween, however suitable the date is.

I truly don't understand why people get so annoyed over not knowing when something's on months in advance. Why does it matter? Especially to the non-UK residents who won't be getting it until even later/watching it online anyway. It's an hour of TV, not the meticulously planned perfect wedding!

Most kids with decent parents will be home well before 7 when Dr Who might start. Could be a fantastic night, go trick or treating then come home and eat your sweets watching Who

What, you don't plan your entire life around the TV schedule months in advance?! What's wrong with you crazy Brits?!?!

Sounds like a sweet night to me!

(Yes, pun intended)

To an extent, they already do. the first release of the Christmas Day schedules usually bears no resemblance to what actually goes out. Then changes come in regularly until the deadline cut off.
Sky even played tricks with that: they used to play Musical Simpsons five minutes before cut-off, so (I always assumed) that other listings mags wouldn't have time to put in the last change; the Sky inhouse mag had a slightly later print slot and could cope.
