I'd seen a few eps of TOS as a kid and TVH in theatre at age 6, but I wouldn't say I really became a fan until the premiere of TNG in 87.

I'm 25 and became a fan in the early-mid 90s. TNG was the series that got me hooked.
Having always been a sci-fi fan, I was alwasy interested in TOS as a kid. However it wasn't until I was older that I became a "trekkie". TNG was an "escape" for me when I was going through a crappy divorce. Later when it was sindicated on Spike TV, I watched every episode (out of order).
Now that I can get them through Netflix, I am hooked!

I became a fan in 1984 at age 12 after reading the film adaptation for ST III. My uncle took me to see the film and afterwards we went to the mall. I brought the book that day, and was hooked from then on.
Luckily a local tv station showed ST in the evenings, so I was able to catch up on the series. Then I started scouring all the local used book stores to pick up old copies of books.

When I was younger I used to watch VOY on TV so I'd say that's what made me a fan. Didn't see the beginning or end (due to the channels here being inconsistent) but it was still the greatest thing on.
I was born less than a month from the TOS premiere. I'm told I "watched' it with my Dad. Oddly enough, I don't remember that.
I've been watching since I was old enough to watch tv-I still remember watching Cecil and Beaney and then Star Trek after kindergarten. I always thought Cecil was kind of stupid. Trek was cool. I had the utility belt at a young age, got up early to see TAS(showed at like 5:30 or so in Az). When TMP came out I was there with a family friend who knew how much I liked the show. Am I a fan? Hmm, went to last weekend of ST Experience, write fanfic and, oh yeah, I'm on here. So I guess I am. Not sure if I can quote dialogue from every episode but at least a little from quite a few.

Repeats of TOS in the eighties, but Next Gen really was the one that pulled me in.
Before he left when I was 5 or 6 my father used to watch the Star Trek reruns and I may have seen a few there. But I really got into it around age 8 or 9 when ST:TMP was in the theaters just after seeing and becoming a big fan of Star Wars. Between that movie and just before Star Trek III, I started to put together that the movies were related to a TV show and who the charecters were. TMP was my first real love of Star Trek and I compare almost all my viewing of any Star Trek back to that.
I first saw trek when I was 7 back in 1992. TNG was cool, but I didn't become a real fan until Voyager came out. Since then I've been nuts about every trek series, seen all of the movies, and own a bunch of trek paraphernalia.
TOS was all there was around when I became a fan, so I guess in my case, my poll answer shows how old I am, but I remained a fan through TNG and DS9, and I enjoyed the relaunch movie. I'm interested to see what they plan to do next. I never watched the animated series that I can recall.
