When Ben Sisko left utopia planitia was it because...

Still don't understand why ST used that name. I'm prepared to bet when Mars is finally colonised there will be a lot of 'New' this and that and a few completely original names but nobody is going to call any settlement utopia planitia.

Maybe it was settled by the Toclafane.
 
At least he was able to leave the next generation peace through his star treking enterprises.

Utopia Planitia is the name of a large area of land on Mars. The name of the Utopia Plantia Yards makes as much sense as the name of the San Francisco Yards from TOS.
