what's your local weather?

Tornado went thru town last night, tossing trailers in a trailer park around and throwing trees onto power lines. Just got electricity back today around 5pm.

That doesn't sound fun.

It is getting worse for those of us in the Deep Gulf South

Worst of all is the fact that Metro Birmingham's NOAA weather radio transmitter is down, replaced with a low power alternative that may not reach everyone:

North Alabama is under a moderate risk: http://www.alabamawx.com/?p=82178

It is shocking how life can change suddenly. 3 confirmed tornadoes touched down in itty bitty Elizabeth City friday night. We are used to hurricanes, living so close to the coast, and you have time to prepare for hurricanes, but tornadoes just drop on you and destroy.

13 C and sunny with rain moving in overnight.

Thoughts and prayers to everyone living in tornado zones.

57 degrees and getting progressively cloudier. We're supposed to get ample amounts of rainfall later today and tomorrow.

Tornadoes out the wazoo yesterday, more today. I have no desire to go to Oz today.

48 F, very chilly and extremely wet. It's been raining all night and all morning.

55 degrees, wet, a bit chilly and almost completely overcast. It's not raining right now, but we're supposed to get more showers and even a storm before the end of the day.

Just do a news search and you'll get a general idea.

The past couple of days was non-stop thunderstorms with plenty of heavy rain, dumping a record 15+ inches on us in a single 24-hour period. Major flooding everywhere, several chunks of road washed out (including part of a local highway).

I would say "But at least we didn't get any tornadoes", but really what we got was worse than what a few tornadoes could have done. :(
