We have functional baseboard heaters in 2 rooms (the living room and the bathroom), so while I wouldn't classify anything as toasty warm, it's warm enough to keep us safe. Plus, I have a blanket if I need it.
That's very good to know. I know how cold snaps like these can trigger power outages and I didn't know if your part of Ohio had been thrown back into the Ice Age with no juice to heat your place.

My desktop weather app just went dead and has no connection to post temperature stats. That's the first time it's ever happened. Every other app is running smoothly, it's just the weather one that's gone flaky.

Psssh. Around here we'd call that a heat wave.
Fortunately, my Chevy Traverse, which was parked outside, decided it would start this afternoon, despite sitting out in -20F+ temperatures for 20 hours between starts. It coughed, sputtered, and complained a bit, and then it roared to life. I had ever so a brief a moment where I could identify with Doctor Who.
Bavaria: high fog and +5°C - far too warm for the season. A friend from St Petersburg (where they have the same weather) suggested that the Russian and the Bavarian winter went on a holiday trip to the US together.
I was amused to see that we'd gotten 0.05" of precipitation overnight. Friends further west/north have gotten about two inches, complete with school delays, and there's already been accidents and slow-downs near Hartford because of the slippery conditions. Last night I got stuck behind a salt truck in my area, so we should be okay. It's campus I'm worried about now, they're terrible at salting and plowing and pretty much everything. So, 10F with a high of 15 predicted, but windchills down to maybe -3. And campus is on a hill by the water. Brr.
It was 4°F this morning, only going up to ~20°F. My car's engine temperature gauge, which settles in near the halfway mark on any other day, didn't go above the 1/4 mark even after warming it up for 15 minutes an then driving for 20 miles. For Alabama, this is just wrong!
Wind chill of -35 C this morning. It was a tad chilly standing there waiting for the bus this morning.
