what's your local weather?

37 F, cold and getting progressively colder over the course of the next two days. We're supposed to dip as low as 1 degree or even zero by Tuesday, and that's before the windchill factor is taken into account. The daytime high on Tuesday will be almost ten degrees lower than it is right now.

-1F at the moment and windy as hell. It's supposed to get down to -19F by morning. Most schools have already cancelled classes for tomorrow.

Have you guys been getting as much snow over there as we have further east?

You know, the cold doesn't bother me. But the dry really does. I feel like I can actually FEEL the moisture being sucked from the tissues of my ungloved fingers.

Partly Cloudy 31° F
( a lot better than my Sister In Brandon, MB, where with the Extreme wind chill minus 48 F.

Ugh yes, that's one of the few things I dislike about coming back to IL. Winter is brutal in terms of dry skin! I just found some really good lotion though, so I'm set now.

Dry skin isn't even something that I have a problem with, even in extremely cold weather. It's that feeling on my fingers that the moisture is being sucked out of them. It's really weird.

Windchill tomorrow night is supposed to get down to as low as -15 F. For my area that's brutal.

Not that much. We got A LOT of snow on New Years Day and some more on Friday, but today is just brutal cold and wind. I know there was a "white out" on many of the highways, though, from all the snow blowing around. I bet there are a lot of people in ditches right now.

I have literally started rubbing olive oil all over my skin in the wintertime. It's the only thing I've found that actually makes a difference.

Ugg this weather is really hurting all the businesses in the Poconos. We largely depend on tourism, and everyone thinks we get "all the skiers". That's just not how it works. Those who ski stay at the lodges. Everyone else just stays home. We had snow/rain/extreme cold every weekend in December. All our Xmas events were cancelled. This was the most uneventful holiday season in my 10 years as a shopkeep. Several shops are closing because no one came this year. Now January isn't looking any better. This extreme cold is keeping people away. It rain/snowed this weekend and they're saying the same will happen next weekend. I had to lay off one of my employees until the weather breaks and I get some business back. I guess, we were due for this. The last 4 years biz increased 22%, so this isn't an economic thing with me. It just really crappy weather.

It's approaching tolerable here today. 46F, cloudy/foggy and just a minor windchill. It was warmer at 7am though. Back to the below-freezing temps and high winds tomorrow. If the job was better about letting me work remotely, I'd be working remotely from south Florida.

If the app is correct, 31 F and dropping fast. It's already dipping below freezing at midday with the Sun high in the sky so tonight is going to be pretty raw and brutal. Good luck to everyone else in the path of the cold snap.

Currently -25F with wind chills over -50F. School was called off for TOMORROW already at 1030 this morning.

My daughter and I even did the cup o' water/steam thing on the back deck.

^:eek::eek::eek:

Warmish and wetish here.

It is -3°F here. In my room, it is about 38°, which is a touch nippy, but on the plus side, my computer will never run any faster than what it's running now.
