what's your local weather?

Unusually cold and constant rain for my area in Georgia. I wouldn't mind either if I had a good roof or a fully working septic system but hey you win some and lose some in life.

Weren't you moving to Albania or some such Eastern European country?

I never said I was heading for a plane any time soon, it was a plan. But my fathers friend pretty much talked him out of it with talk of really hot weather and some social unrest. We are still looking but we aren't moving anywhere anytime soon.

Fair enough. When you first mentioned it, I'm sure you implied you were on a pretty short time frame.

Very, very sunny, about 22F and I'll be surprised if it breaks freezing today. At least the wind has calmed down finally, it's still about 3-4mph but that's an improvement over 25mph with higher gusts.

At the time it certainly seemed that way but life has a way of messing with the best laid plans. Now we are taking it a measure slower to really make sure we do this right.

For about twelve minutes it was my favorite ever weather here, HOT and raining. Then in typical Melbourne fashion the temperature abruptly plummeted and I'm wearing a jacket now.

-10C (14F) with a wind chill of -18C (0F). It's supposed to go down to -19 later this week.

I suppose it could be worse. There are a few places in the weather app on my phone where the current temperature is below -20.

What I can't figure out is how Thunder Bay's forecast for Wednesday is -20 with fog. (No, I don't normally make a habit of tracking the weather in Thunder Bay, but I saw a weather map earlier this evening that indicated that it was -50 there. I found that hard to believe, so I Googled the current temperature, and saw the forecast at the same time. For the record, it's only -29.)

It's default for England right now, wet and windy which should be fun flying across to Dublin later for a removal today and funeral tomorrow.

Well, nice weather for the first day of the year:

More highs in the 60's, shorts and t-shirts weather.

Unfortunately, we are in a serious drought condition here along the western coast of the US.

We've got flurries right now, which are supposed to grow into blizzard conditions this evening. And in a moment, I'm going to let work know I am working from home the next two days!

-42 with the wind chill today. Cold enough to have frost inside our house. This is the inside doorknob from our front door:

Sunny and 65 F. 2013 was officially the driest year on record for California. Still waiting for winter to happen. It feels like the beginning of Fall instead.

Come on over to North Dakota this weekend. The HIGH is supposed to be -20 on Sunday. Good excuse to watch football!

Holy shit! Where do you live, the North Pole?

I think having frost come through the door is sign from the universe to move a bit further south. :vulcan:

God; it once hit zero (F) here, and I refused to even leave the house.
