Of all the dangerous weather, tornadoes frighten me the most. They are sudden and unpredictable (though the forecasters have gotten better at predicting them over the years.

Today is sunny and temperate. It is a beautiful day for a leisurely walk, so that's exactly what we did.

The nearest twister to me was an EF-1, 500 yards across--on the ground for 4.78 mi.
This tornado tracked just south of Interstate 59, damaging approximately 42 homes in the Roebuck area just east of Birmingham–Shuttlesworth International Airport. Most of damage to these homes was caused by falling trees.[27]
