what's your local weather?

Too damn warm !

Not that I like cold weather, but when it's like this it just feels "wrong", and usually happens right before we get a record-breaking, kick-yer-ass snowfall up here on the mountain...

I'm ready for it - my snowshoes are by the front door, the snowmobile is tuned and gassed, and my neighbor is ready with his plow - but it's tough when every trip outside feels like a rescue mission in a bad TV movie !

Stay safe, folks !

Polar vortex comes to Ontario!

Fortunately, I live in the "balmy" part of the province! ;)

Oh, and heavy snowsqualls tonight, too, which have already started. Perfect night just to stay at home where it's warm. As luck would have it, that was already my plan!

It's in the 60s, and it was very windy when was I riding my bike a little while ago, but looks like it's calming down. That or it's just less windy here, than where I was riding.

Currently 20F and dropping fast...

Also waiting for another snowstorm, but I'm ready for it - you have to be up here !

Th dogs are all absolutely loving the weather, though - the two biggest and fluffiest, my Newfie and Great Pyr, will burrow into a snow drift and actually take a nap ! :ack:

Well, we've definitely got show! My husband and i went for an evening walk in the snow, which was lovely...until the moron one street over brought out some kind of stupid "snow buggy" thing (think dune buggy but for snow). He and another pal with a huge truck with a floodlight bar were revving and doing donuts in the middle of the street. They were kicking up snow and dirt into people's yards and racing up and down the street. This is an ordinary suburban neighborhood side street on a Sunday night. Obviously the best time and place to do this.

At least a foot of snow here so far, but it's now turned to ice/hail, meaning we'll have a crust over the snow that will freeze like glass, then more snow over that, making it dangerous to walk, drive, snowshoe, etc...

Clearing just a 15x15 square of the front yard for the doggos, but no big walks or hikes until this is over !

Hugs, hot cinnamon tea, warm sweaters, and more hugs to everyone until this breaks - stay safe :)

Mmmm I'm take a hot cinnamon tea, thanks! I'll trade you an earl grey, hot.

I'd say we got 8-12 inches here, and it's still snowing. We ran the snowblower last night and hubby is running it again right now. I have the day off today and can work from home this week, thank goodness! I'm pretty sure my field visit for tomorrow is cancelled, though...

Update: Hubby reports that the snow is really over a foot. We are officially snowed in at the moment as the end of the drive is impassable. I don't know what he's going to do about work. I got a message from work that the crews are snowed in at their homes (I work for a park system) and unable to get out to go and clear out parking areas. I had an eye appt this morning and was trying to get through to cancel when they called me to cancel. So that's the state of things in my corner of the world!
