Murphyish! Yesterday in the morning it was warm and spring-like. The perfect morning for taking a stroll and enjoying the scent of the moist soil.
In the afternoon, I had an appointment at the hospital and it drizzled but was still warm. After my appointment I watched a huge black cloud swallowing the neighbouring town (the hospital is on a hilltop and offers spectacular views =) ). It thundered twice and then, within seconds, we got a hailstorm with hailstones the size of big peas and with very sharp edges. I had to seek shelter under the helicopter platform but nevertheless got soaked to the skin and suffered a few abrasions on my hands (I had put my rucksack over my head to protect my face, but my hands were exposed). After 5 mins it turned into rain but the whole town was 2 inches deep in hailstones until evening.
And when I got up at 5 this morning we had 3 inches of snow and a blizzard so that I had to call a taxi instead of walking to work. The taxi kept slipping and sliding, though, since the snow was not flaky but round and it felt like driving on peas. So far (it's high noon now) the police counted 70 accidents. One complete fool was on the road with summer tires (that'll be expensive: his insurance won't pay a cent and he ruined not only his mercedes but also hit a truck and a wall).
Right now the storm has settled and the snow is starting to melt. Figures, as I am in my warm and dry office. However, in 3 hours, when I go home, it's bound to start again LOL.
