What's Your Favourite Type Of Sandwich??

Steak sandwiches. Either Philly Steak and Cheese (all varieties) or the frozen Sandwich steaks on sliced wheat bread with mustard.

because everytime I watch an American TV show if someone has a sandwich it's a meatball one and the person eating it usually orgasms over it.

And all Brits eat is caviar and spotted dick, right?

I could name about 10 American Tv shows that are out on TV now that shows people eating meatball sandwiches. Any British TV show showing someone eat caviar and spotted dick is probably from 50 years ago.

Fontina cheese, Prosciutto di Parma, mayonnaise. Grill lightly and then add lettuce and thin tomato slices. Divino!

Also Brie cheese, Tyrolean speck and thin tomato slices, grilled.

I sometimes travel to a cute little baker (not a chain) in my old neighbourhood which makes everything including the bread on the premises, and I usually buy a sesame seed roll with chicken, mayonnaise, sweetcorn, diced onion, and mixed salad, with black pepper... all of it so soft, fresh and fragrant... if it were closer to where I live, I'd be as big as a house, no doubt.

If I want it, I have to go there, no way I am able to make it the same at all.

You obviously don't watch much American TV. As any "American TV" I watch; meatball sandwiches aren't often featured. More often than not it's the classic deli or hero sandwich.

Regardless, it's obtuse to think that all we have in America are meatball sanwiches because "that's all you see on TV" just like I don't assume all Brits eat is a bunch of poor tasting snooty food I wouldn't feed a dog.

Calm down man.

Probably a BLT on whole wheat toast with butter and mayo, but only if I just picked the lettuce and tomato from the garden.

Also the roast pork Cuban is hard to beat. Also pulled pork with vinegar sauce, not tomato sauce, with coleslaw on a crusty roll.

Nothing really wrong with a meatball sandwich (depending on the meatballs it's made of, I guess), but it's not my favorite nor is it all that common. (And man, are they messy to eat!)

I do remember that Joey on Friends was a big meatball sandwich fan - this comes up on the show more than once. Have you been watching Friends, Tachyon Shield? If so, well, I wouldn't call Joey "typical." I wonder if scriptwriters think Italian Americans are all addicted to meatball sandwiches?

Good bread- could be rye, could be white, could be hardbread.. whatever i need that moment.

Ham. Always ham.
Avocado goes well on that. But mostly its like cucumber or tomatoes that I have on it.

I actually enjoy a Bologna and Cheese sandwich with mustard from time to time...not the most sophisticated sandwich but still quite yummy. :techman:

I just ate a sandwich
All filled with ham and cheese
And when it has digested
I'll sit on the pot and squeeze!
