Nope. The title was specific to the plot and themes of the film. It was never planned as the last film. Never.

TFF used to be at #1. It was the first Star Trek movie I ever got to watch on VHS (birthday gift from parents back in the early 90s), so it holds a special place in my heart. I guess after a while, I got burned out on it, but having watched it last night on my new big screen TV, I realized just how much I loved it, what it meant to me, and it soared upward again.![]()
But then again, I also think Never Say Never Again is better than Thunderball![]()
