What's your favorite Westley episode?

"The Game" is just plain creepy. And in a good way. The only time Wes is the unabashed hero and the rest of the crew is the bad guys. And somehow...that crazy, seemingly dumb idea worked.

I love it when they force his eyes open at the end to put the device on him and then he BLINKS! God, that's one huge fuck up.

And how in the fuck did they get Picard to first try the game? Or Worf for that matter. Neither strike me as the type to willing play creepy Masturbation Tetris game.

I agree with those who say The First Duty. Though I think Wesley punishment should have been much more serious. Isn't he guilty of man slaughter or at least criminal negligence for participating in the act that got a cadet killed? The whole flight team got a slap on the wrist.

People in the 24c are much more forgiving and it's even been suggested at time they're much more understanding and accepting of death. So perhaps it's not that "big a deal" and Wesley's admiting the mistake made up for it.

But are we supposed to feel proud of Wesley for what he did? He only admitted what they were doing when Picard confronted him.

I actually quite like "Evolution" because he falls asleep after working on an all night science project and nearly destroys the ship. I also liked seeing him interact with another (annoying) super genius and that everyone had to bail him out.

"The First Duty" is fantastic because it shows how hard it is to do the right thing, even when you are extraordinary and Nick Locarno is almost evilly convincing. I love how creepy and campy "The Game" is. The first time you're home from college, your parents try to addict you to a porn game? hilarious!

The First Duty...although I didn't like how Wesley betrayed his friends at the end just to stay in Picard's good books :(

Er. You realize his "friends" were asking Wesley to lie to superior officers concerning the death of a fellow student, right? Wesley, I'd say, didn't just do it to say in Picard's "good books" but because it was the right thing to do.

That's just way too forgiving.

Yeah, it was a bit of a cop-out.

I'm going to have to go with the people who said either The First Duty or Journey's End. I think The First Duty is a better episode overall, but Journey's End gave a lot of good character development to Wesley. He finally made his own choice instead of living in the shadow of his father. Of course, seeing him back in a Starfleet uniform in the wedding scene of Nemesis cheapened some of that.

Who said it meant he's back in Starfleet? Maybe he just pulled it out of the closet for the occasion. I would have liked a real explanation of his presence there. Also, that fanboy fantasy rumour of him showing up with Lefler as his wife would have been awesome. Pity he was only onscreen for like 3 seconds.

If you had to pick one, which is your favorite?

The one where he bursts into flame and the others rush over to defecate on his smoldering corpse.

Joe, fantasizer
I missed that one!

My favorite Wesley episode is "The Dauphin" because of this:

I liked the game ... admittedly it is sort of a dumb scenario but I liked how he was able to repair data and I actually liked the chase scene between him, riker and worf when they were trying to capture him. plus judd was hot.

I liked that last episode just before he went off to the Academy...when he went on that final mission with Picard.

After I saw it, I said to a friend "Wow...they finally make Wesley interesting - even tolerable - just as they ship him off for good!"

I liked the warp bubble episode too, though. (Wes' mom: "If there's nothing wrong with me...then there must be something wrong with the universe!" LOL!)

The last one with the Traveler was good to...but I was let down that the Indian was the Traveler in disguise...I would have preferred if the Traveler was a *friend* of the tribe member/s (as cheesily nuAge as that might have been...)

I did NOT like "The Game" - Lefler was *great*...just hated the thinly-veiled "Just Say No To Drugs" /& "Video-Games Are Bad" messages...

They were all in it together! He should have stuck by his friends rather than betraying them, I hated Wesley for that decision. He just went behind their backs and ratted on them, LoCarno et al weren't bad guys, they just didn't want to get expelled for one mistake.

They were told not to do the maneuver in the first place. They went ahead and did it and one of the cadets died. They did all this plus lie about it and you don't think that they should have been punished? They were without honor. I think that they should have all been expelled.

:wtf:

:wtf:

:wtf:

Their "one mistake" KILLED SOMEONE!

Theye were lying about that person's DEATH!
