What's your favorite moment when Kirk destroyed a computer?

Quoted for truth. I loved watching the crew play mind games with those androids and while not directly related, the way Kirk tortured Mudd at the end with the android replica of his wife. Kirk wasn't even trying to hide his amusement.

The I Mudd androids...how much more fun can you have with illogic? "I am not programmed to respond in that area."

Mudd I, aka Mudd the Pimp, finally got what he deserved.

Kirk and company would probably not regret leaving him there for the rest of his life.

Now, just imagine a Minnie Pearl series of andriods. "Howwwww DEEEE!"

Okay, so reading this thread, I'm trying to think of all the computers that Kirk managed to talk to death. I've got Norman, Landru, Nomad, and M5. Any others I'm missing?

Well, there's Vaal and the Norman series of Androids from I Mudd...

Personally, I have always loved the battle with Nomad, basically Kirk playing his trump card and squashing Mr "I am Perfect"'s view of himself :techman:.

It was a classic TOS Moment :devil:

Though I have always laughed at the gang up on poor Norman in I, Mudd.

"logic is a little bird chirping in the meadow...logic is a bunch of pretty flowers...that smell bad"

:guffaw::guffaw:

Classic :rommie:

"You are not One with the deejay?

Lawgivers!!!

Landru must KNOW of this heretic against the leisure suit!"

I also like how Kirk confused Andrea, who, as Chapel correctly said, was constructed as a mechanical Geisha. She and the other androids, IMHO, did develop emotions, which were in conflict with their logical computer minds. The one instance where Kirk used his ability to confound a computer and kiss it, too! -- RR

Except that he didn't really talk Vaal to death. More like phasered to death... :)

:guffaw::guffaw::guffaw:

Tru dat!!!

Poor Vaaly...:rommie:

Ha! Off-topic, but I always loved it when they showed the Enterprise laying waste to something on the planet surface, like Vaal, or Apollo's temple in Who Mourns For Adonis? -- RR

The new CGI remastering of ADONAIS had some spiffy new additions to the destruction of Apollo's temple at the end. The phaser beams look more realistic and there's this sparkling new glow to the vaporization sequence.
