Contest: VOTE What's your favorite ENT character and why?

1. Trip - easy-going and lovable, also engineer. Feels like a real person. One of the "realest" people in all of Trek
2. Malcolm - I can relate to him in more ways than one.
3. Shran - this needs no explanation
4. T'Pol - because of the journey
5. Hoshi - see "The Hoshi Sato Appreciation Thread" I opened back in the day
6. Phlox - John Billingsley was the best actor on the show
7. Cutler
8. Soval
9. A.G. Robinson
10. Porthos
11. Travis
12. Future Guy
13. Daniels
14. Degra
15. Director Krennick
16. T'Pau
17. Talas
18. Silik

Let's see: My faves: 1. Malcolm: His bravery to go first to protect everyone and other things I identify with him (I have a British Grandfather who did serve in the Royal Navy, too) . 2. Trip. He reminds me of a Southern Gent I dated once. Just a down home country boy at heart and a very excellent Engineer. Gets the job done.
3. T'Pol: Because of her logic and ability to remain calm in any crisis. 4. Archer: If I had a Captain like him, I would never want to leave Star Fleet. He has a natural curiosity about everything, like me. 5. Hoshi: Her ability to master languages. I wish I could master at least the French I took in HS. 5.Travis: His ability for flying and he has a good sense of keeping to regulations. 6. Dr. Phlox: What else? His bedside manner should be practiced by all doctors. Maybe patients would learn to trust doctors then!

Dr. Phlox is my favourite because he's a genuinely nice guy who works hard for his crew. I also like Mayweather because he seems very sweet and makes me smile.

Of that list then I'd have to go with Trip, and not simply because he's easy on the eyes or the number of times he's in his skivvies

He's a very warm and genuine character who is relatable and sympathetic (especially in later seasons), and would've made a far more interesting and compelling lead for the show compared to Archer.

dr. plox cause of his funny smile and because hes such an interesting character always bringing new intrigue to the show

Trip Tucker. He's one of my favorite Star Trek characters. I found him pretty relatable. I'm from the South, and my grandmother even owned a catfish restaurant. I loved most of his stand alone episodes, such as Cogenitor and Similitude, and I liked his relationships to the other characters, especially T'Pol and Archer. I also enjoyed it whenever he had to take command of the ship. He was a fun character, and the show wouldn't have been as enjoyable without him.

Sorry, I have a tie between Trip & Malcolm. " Trip: He creates them and Malcolm: I blow them up". The series wouldn't be the same without these two characters paring up. I especially loved "Shuttle Pod One" episode!

Phlox, Trip, Shran and T'Pol were all highlights for me. Four great actors, that all had wonderful progress with their characters.

To be honest, I liked all the characters, even Porthos. My absolute fave is Lt. Reed. I also liked Gen. Shran but Jeffery Combs is a hoot in person! So, what didin't you like about T'Pol, Phlox, Travis and Lt. Reed? Curious.

I actually do like Phlox but not as a favourite. Same for T'Pol, Travis and Reed. I just mentioned my four favourites.

What didn't you like about Hoshi, Lt. Reed and Travis? Just curious.

Now I didn't really dislike any of them, but I'll try to criticize them below, in competition with those I liked better:

The actress that played Hoshi was just marvellous, I remember a couple of times I checked if she was in anything else I could watch. I think her character was a bit bland at times. Too nice. But she's up there, close to those I liked best, along with the captain.

Travis is a difficult one. I loved him in some episodes, especially the ones about his family. The character also seemed like a nice and humorous person. He lacked an edge I think, probably in the way he was played by the actor. Difficult to explain.

Reed didn't follow sports, didn't like good food, he felt awkward dining with Archer, always stayed single, was serious in all ways. I think his character was one of the flaws of the series. I'm not sure the actor had the charisma necessary to pull it off either.

Hate to tell you this but Dominic Keating is the exact opposite of his character!! He plays golf, does a lot of boogie boarding, goes skiing. He does love good food but watches what he eats. As for the relationship with Archer, if you read the 'stats' sheet of the UFP you'd find out that Malcolm was trained from the beginning that you don't fraternize with your superiors. As for charisma - go meet him at a Star Trek Con! He's the liveliest guy there and all the girls & women love it!! He loves to hang with them and any ST fan if asked. The only reason he's the way he is because the Producers of the show wanted him that way.

Sounds good. Felt a bit bad about what I wrote. I did enjoy his character, and I’m sure he is a lovely person.
