Christmas is only a few days away and I am super excited for the celebration. Well, I love watching movies and trying to make a list of all time popular Christmas movies. Just want to know your favorite movie to add in the list.
I would have to say my favorite is a tossup between Here A Christmas Story and or Home Alone.

We have several movies we watch over Christmas:

Die Hard
Die Hard 2
Elf
National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation
The Nightmare Before Christmas

Christmas Vacation by far is the funniest and the one I look forward to every year.

"MERRY CHRISTMAS! SHITTER WAS FULL!"

My Holy Trinity is How the Grinch Stole Christmas, A Charlie Brown Christmas and The Nightmare Before Christmas.

1) Die Hard
2) The Bishop's Wife
3) On Her Majesty's Secret Service
4) Ghostbusters (I know it has nothing to do with Xmas, but was released here in the holiday season, and has a sort of tone and vibe to it that just fits...)
5) A Christmas Carol (Patrick Stewart and the Muppet version tied.)

It's a Wonderful Life
Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer (1964)
A Christmas Carol (1951, Starring Alastair Sim)

Die Hard and It's a Wonderful Life.

My family also tends to watch a lot of westerns around Christmas time, as it's a genre the whole family likes.

A Christmas Carol (1984) [George C. Scott as Scrooge]
Yay! I was just watching this last night. For me, this will always be the best adaptation ever.

The rest of my "must watch" list every year:

  • A Charlie Brown Christmas
  • Christmas Eve on Sesame Street
  • The Family Stone
  • Home for the Holidays (even though it's set at Thanksgiving)
  • How the Grinch Stole Christmas! (the cartoon)
  • Love Actually
  • White Christmas
