What's with all the 'Canon Violation' avatars?

Besides, you cannot fully appreciate true canon violation until you've actually heard it.

Yeah, but you have to admit that the canon freaks are pretty ridiculous, and deserving of ridicule they receive.I didn't see where it started, but it would seem that the intent is to bait other members... which is why it is funny that moderators are taking part in it.
Personally, I find it sad that people couldn't just be happy with having a good movie that they enjoyed. These days, it seem that people are only truly satisfied if they can add to other people's unhappiness.
Frankly, it is best to ignore them and go about discussing/sharing Trek in what ever form brings you the most enjoyment.
I'd be wearing a "Pro Canon" Avatar, but of course I must always use Goofy Grape.

Treating others badly (even if they have asked for it) isn't good for the community as a whole. And it is worse when our standard bearers gleefully take part.
Personally, I'd bet that those upset over canon (which I'm still not sure what qualifies) will run out of steam in a little while. I'd rather the moderators moderate them rather than doing something to stir them up into another frenzy.
But hey, they're leaving me alone thanks to the new movie, so I'm not really complaining.

Obviously you have a grudge, there isn't much I can do about it (specially if I don't know who you are)... so what could I do?
