What's with all the 'Canon Violation' avatars?

Hi everyone!

For a few days I've been seeing a lot of 'Canon Violation' avatars cropping up. I assume this has something to do with the new movie and the livelier discussions about it. But where did it originate? Did I miss the newest trend?

That's what I want to know, too. I noticed all the avatars two days ago. Is there a thread I'm missing?

(Somehow I feel like those people asking about the sombreros. :shifty:)

I didn't see where it started, but it would seem that the intent is to bait other members... which is why it is funny that moderators are taking part in it. :wtf:

Personally, I find it sad that people couldn't just be happy with having a good movie that they enjoyed. These days, it seem that people are only truly satisfied if they can add to other people's unhappiness.

Frankly, it is best to ignore them and go about discussing/sharing Trek in what ever form brings you the most enjoyment. :techman:

I figured as much, but I'd like to know its origins.

I wish soneone would violate my cannon... :(
Have you trimmed your wick, or are you merely confused?

My money says it's a lounge thing... I haven't paid enough attention to the ranks of the participating people to know for sure, but it seems logical enough.
