What's this...? TOS.5.2

Thanks, guys, glad you enjoyed it so much. See, I told ya about those SOTL: AD clips, eh! :)

Are there any plans to finish the 3D realization of Probert's Enterprise-C design? :)

Not ATM, FalTorPan. LOVE your avie, BTW!!!! :)

Time to feed the alien, and I can hear the bomb logicating now...

^ Again... awesome. And I love the red nebula in this one. Actually the entire image is "slap your mama good".

I am curious though. Do you paint your own backgrounds? And if you do, what do you do it with and at what resolution?

Truly fantastic. :techman: :techman: I really love the ships cruisin like in Star Trek VI. Ach Bach Dach Be, to be or not to be.

That is a REALLY nice image, but have the colors been reduced any? Somehow, it kind of looks like that happened.

LOL, you're too funee, dude! :D Thanks, my friend! :)

I use all manner of methods and combinations for creating my backgrounds; from using real pics, painting stuff by hand, generating stuff with Photoshop or my 3D or fractal-generating programs, etc. All is then tweaked/customized by me to my tastes until I arrive at something that works for me for a given piece.

For this shot I used a newly acquired Photoshop system called Cosmic Pack 2 for Photoshop by Digital Heavens, which I really like and will use more of going forward. However, I never leave or use anything straight out of the box though, as then it just becomes generic, like something anyone could do by pressing buttons. I have to put my own deg feel and tweak and stamp on it and make it my own art/take or I don't feel like I really did anything myself. Nothing original anywho.

Good stuff Deg :techman: Must've been right before the Klingon ship suffered a series of unfortunate events ;)

Ah, if you are referring to my 2011 SOTL piece, the Klingon ship never received any real damage, nor was meant to. This could be seen as the after-math, and them settling things and now getting along (for a time anywho). If you were in fact referring to my said SOTL shot, you can read its narrative account here over at Doug's. It should all makes sense then, hopefully. ;)

And thanks as well, my friend! :)

And, you gets it, Sarvek! ;)

And QA TLHO' as well, my friend! :)

Great shot!
The D4 looks especially good here. :techman: :techman: :techman:

Thanks, ST-One! :) Indeed, Johnny's design is a big buncha beauty, eh! ;)

Thanks, my friend! :)

Nope, all good and as meant to be here, BA. Could be a monitor/platform/display issue as I'm on a Mac and if you have a PC, they display at different Gamma level settings, which is always a bane in regard to ever establishing a viewing-based consistency on the web.

agreed, beautiful as always. Love both ships, and really like your homage to the alien.

More new wallpaper for me. :bolian:

Thanks, my friend! :) Glad ou like it so much. That makes it all the more worthwhile for me to do, for when my fellow Trekkers get a kick out of my stuff as well. :)

Thanks again, all! :)

BTW, Ha, thought you might get a kick out of this, buds...

I was contacted via email today by:

David J. Alexander MD, MC, SFS
NASA Flight Surgeon
Expedition 14 Lead Crew Surgeon
Expedition 11 Deputy Crew Surgeon
STS-123 Deputy Crew Surgeon
Constellation EVA Suit Development

(his email signature)

He shared that he found me via the Drex Files, so thanks to Doug on that!

Anywho, the space-Doc (Bones!) is doing a presentation “...on G effects at near earth orbit or on re-entry. What would a high speed entry compare to (such as a fighter) as far as the G effects.” The first thing he thought about was the Star Trek TOS Tomorrow Is Yesterday episode, and after finding my website via Doug's, he loved my F-104 and 104 with E art-work and then asked if he could use the lot of it in his presentation as he thought it was fantastic. Pretty cool, huh? :)

He was also gracious enough to say he would inquire with the NASA Graphic Arts division for me (as I shamelessly asked him if he knew anyone within NASA that could use my 3D modeling and/or 3D illustration services, as hey, “Fortune favors the bold” as me Captain is fond of saying), so who knows what may come of that? Maybe nothing, maybe fun times contributing to our space program! Ya just never know, eh. Either way, all cool, and at the very least it was way-coolness of him to include me on his/this project, and thus be able to contribute in a 'round-about way any small amount to the awesome and inspiring organization that I love so much. :)
