That's my opinion as well, but I make myself feel slightly better by just telling myself that it was all AU.awesome.
and, as it seems we're obliged to comment on it now, i also like the XI Enterprise and believe that trekdom is richer for having it than not.?
I have to disagree. The Trek universe could have done very well without the Abramsprise. But that's just my opinion.

What, Kirk dying of asphyxiation?how long until someone does a 'phantom edit' of STXI and puts in the TOS Enterprise?
including, presumably, a scene of a young james kirk seeing the vessel under construction, in orbit, while dying of asphyxiation?
And, believe it or not, I'm actually working on that right now.
Actually, I don't think that movie would really be helped any by different visuals and sets. Yeah, it would have looked nicer if it had stuck closer to the classic look, but the story itself doesn't make much sense either. Not to mention how the characters have been changed.
I could do with out the spot lights. Surely people who can built warp drive, transporters, and so on will have self luminous hull material and wouldn't need old fashioned spot lights.

Channeling Jimmy Doohan from "Day of the Dove": Aye... you're a BEAUTY!
Didn't want to post 'em all here, but for any interested, I just finished updating the 25 shot "fly-around" on my website to .5.2. It can be found in the main E section by clicking on the E silhouette on the splash page of my site.

Some of the flyby shots looked severly cropped. Are you going to post non-cropped shots sometime?
