That's my opinion as well, but I make myself feel slightly better by just telling myself that it was all AU. What, Kirk dying of asphyxiation? Actually, I don't think that movie would really be helped any by different visuals and sets. Yeah, it would have looked nicer if it had stuck closer to the classic look, but the story itself doesn't make much sense either. Not to mention how the characters have been changed.
Great work as usual! Makes me sad to think about what you've done and what Abrams et al. went with. However, I could do with out the spot lights. Surely people who can built warp drive, transporters, and so on will have self luminous hull material and wouldn't need old fashioned spot lights.
I like the lighting on the second shot, but I like the front of the warp drive units on the first shot.
Thanks, Jeff. For the style/direction I went, yes, I have to agree, eh. For a variation re-envision version, I like Vektor's best to date. Until I do my change-her-up-a-bit take myself that is. Will still dig V's though, and TBT will probably be influenced by it, in some ways. But hey, imitation is the highest form of flattery, eh. deg
Vektors design is absolutely awesome too, he just needs to post a few more awesome pics of it.. *hint hint..*
Didn't want to post 'em all here, but for any interested, I just finished updating the 25 shot "fly-around" on my website to .5.2. It can be found in the main E section by clicking on the E silhouette on the splash page of my site. deg
Thanks, dude. Don't follow you, TowerPower. You mean all full-framed shots? If so, no. You could not get a close-up doing that. Well, you could, if you rendered them ginormas all, and no point to that. As they are, they are rendered frame size and cropping all by design. deg
