What's the worst place to work on the Enterprise?

Going down a different path, I think manning the iod pod doesn't sound like a pleasant stroll in the park.

I watched part of STV recently on cable. The scene in the brig shows what looks like a a toilet retracted into the wall. I had to freeze frame on the sign that said "Don't flush while in port" Like it's a toilet on an old 1800's era train. You look down the hole and see the railroad ties below.

Sonic showers sound terrible. What's the point of being able to replicate hot water on demand if you aren't going to use it.

The worst job on the Enterprise-D would be the helm when Riker is on bridge duty, the odds are not in your favor that he won't put his crotch right next to your head.
After reading the entire thread, I must join the chorus on this one! :ack:

Yeah, that one's pretty bad. You know what's even worse?

Holodeck cleanup duty after one of Riker's private sessions.

I believe Janeway uses 'scrubbing plasma conduits' as a method of punishment.

So I suppose doing that for a regular assignment would be about as bad as it can get on a starship. (Unless of course if that kind of work isn't necessary anyway , and only handed out as a disciplinary measure.)

I would imagine they have quarters ready on standby to support all varieties of alien passengers. Somebody's job is to maintain these quarters, and a few of them are probably quite disgusting to human sensibilities.

I am willing to bet that by the 24th century, most toilets are equipped with some form of bidet (water or sonic).

Worst job on the original Enterprise would probably have been Yeoman considering the level of sexual harassment you would have to put up with.

On the Enterprise D I doubt there is a "worst job". Most people are doing what they love to do, and pretty much everyone is very glad to be on that ship. The least glamourous or exciting would probably be something in an obscure science that very rarely gets used - it could potentially be very boring.

Whoever works in the nether regions of the Enterprise, making sure the replicator is able to make enough Earl Grey, HOT...daily.

I wondering what would be the worst job on the Enterprise and what is the worst place to work?

Turbolift control. All the excitement of escalator management with none of the hands-on involvement.

Those two guys who crouch out of sight behind the sliding doors to open them whenever someone wants to go through and close them afterward.

OP did not specify which Enterprise, so I am going to vote for worse place to work on Enterprise-B is Deflector Control.

"My God...!"
"Aye"

Well, who took care of Porthos's stuff when Archer wasn't around to do so? Or was that documented?

I imagine that it was a one-time job. But whoever had to scrub and clean off all of that goo left over on the TOS Enterprise's hull after squishing around inside that giant Space Amoeba, had to be really gross.

Also a pretty shitty job: Being Dave in the brig.

Poor Dave has to stand down there and stare at a terminal all day, with or without prisoners present, and without anything to do really.

I wouldn't like to end up having to clean up after the Klingons that's for sure. As bad as their food looks going in it can only look worse coming out:eek::eek::eek:
