What's the worst place to work on the Enterprise?

Bath

Ensign
Newbie
I wondering what would be the worst job on the Enterprise and what is the worst place to work?

Whilst I'm on the subject, have they ever shown the inside of a toilet or bathroom? Do we still use toilet paper in the future or do we use a transporter to "relieve" ourselves?

The Ferengi have a place on their ships known as Waste Extraction, which sounds uncomfortable.

We have seen bathrooms, they have sinks and bath tubs and sometimes sonic showers.

Sonic showers sound terrible. What's the point of being able to replicate hot water on demand if you aren't going to use it.

The worst job on the Enterprise-D would be the helm when Riker is on bridge duty, the odds are not in your favor that he won't put his crotch right next to your head.

While the virtual 1701-D walk through video is not canon, it did show the toilet next to e bridge along with the three seashells.

IMO the worst place to be assigned would be that small control room in the warp nacelle. Considering how bright the warp engine flash is I can't imagine how it would be in the room with one wall open to the entire length of the coils.

Don't you know about the three shells? ;)

^ Stallone actually gave an explanation for that, once. And once you hear it, you're going to wish you hadn't.

He says that you use two shells as 'pincers' and scrape what's left with the third.

How in the actual hell this is supposed to be more sanitary than toilet paper, I have no idea.

(Me, I always thought that the seashells, when joined together, become some kind of sonic device that cleans you out automatically, like a sonic shower in Trek.)

I always wondered about the shells! Yeah I think I'd prefer some sort of sonic douche

So not recalling what this was from i googled it. There are step by step diagrams.

On toilets, I do believe Ilia entered a toilet after her brief talk with Decker. The door is near a corner two corridors so the room must be small. Also she is the navigator and that scene is during a time in the story they aren't navigating much.

On the worst job, some years ago I read a funny piece about the "holodeck janitor"

I'd imagine most low level jobs on the Enterprise are all about maintaining some specific bit of machinery.

Brig guard has to be awful just because you're the first dead for any escape attempt.

Then of course, transporter chief.

When we saw Torres in the sonic shower, she seemed to greatly enjoy. It's possible that the sound waves aren't just warm, but also have a massaging/relaxing effect.

With that said, we've seen characters use water much, much more than sonic showers, so it's still probably more of a luxury.

Was there not a toilet seen in the cell where Sybok put Kirk, Spock, and McCoy in, you know in the 5th movie?

A poop question, sir? [/trip]
