What's the last good song you discovered?

The latest Scotland Introducing podcast had a song, "The Magician," by a Glasgow band, Washington Irving that just reached through the speakers and grabbed me. There's a Snow Patrol-meets-Jethro Tull vibe to the song that I liked.

Pink Floyd's Cymbaline. "More" is not my favorite floydian piece, so I tend to overlook it. I re-listened recently to "The Voyage & The Man" and kinda rediscovered it.
Simply brilliant.

As of earlier this week, Mark Lanegan's "Hit The City."

I can't believe it took me this long to find this guy. I knew his work from the soundtrack to "I'm Not There."

Saying this as a completely heterosexual male, Mark Lanegan's voice is orgasmic.

For a song by a new band that I like, Ain't No Rest for the Wicked by Cage the Elephant is a pretty fun song

Ain't No Rest for the Wicked

"Strange Overtones" by David Byrne and Brian Eno, from their 2008 collaboration Everything That Happens Will Happen Today.

I can never get tired of it! Some of Byrne's stuff in the past decade has been... interesting... but this seems like something that would have fit wonderfully into a later Talking Heads album. I just love it. :)

BTW, I listened to some of the songs posted. The Alice in Chains song is really good. The Killers song was decent, but the Killers bug me because they don't know what they want to be. There's no evolution of music style, they just abruptly change it each album. The Muse song was surprisingly boring (I didn't even listen all the way through).

Daniel by Bat For Lashes

I haven't really heard or discovered much music lately, and the above song has probably had a fair bit of radio airplay in the UK already, but I don't really listen to the radio much these days so I'm none the wiser.

^ You know, I was disappointed by the album. I thought about buying the rest of the tracks but they didn't work for me.

Fluke by UNKLE

Never encountered any of their music until it was used in the background in Top Gear.
