True, but I feel that literally, Deep Purple is a band that should not be missed. Gillan's voice live is starting to fail (he is, after all, 69), but they still have something.

I've never had an era, though past eras suffer from me getting sick of them. I am not a very nostalgic person so "you listened to this when you were a teenager, good times" is just meh to me. I have a list of huge loves from varying eras.

If this is only about rock and roll the list is smaller

I dig the Herb, but surely he is NOT rock'n'roll?

Hmm, yeah, valid point. For me, he's mixed into the whole Sixties pop/rock scene, and then later came back with 'Rise', a cool song with a great groove. But not rock & roll as such.
