What's Roddenberry's problem with HAIR?

You know what is alien. Having an entire species sport the exact same haircut.
Moe Howard is probably revered as a human of high intelligence in their cultures.
 
The way I understand it, in the mid sixties Shatner wasn't actually bald, but he did have very fine hair and the hair stylists just could do anything with it, it would just laid there. That why he wore a rug, not just on Star Trek, but on other acting jobs too.

According to this authoritative source, Bill Shatner started wearing an on-screen toupee in 1957 as his hairline began to recede while he was still in his twenties. No one has been able to find a photo of Shatner sans toupee taken later than 1959.

Haha. It always makes me think of kids I went to grade school with, but at least in that case, you could blame their mothers. There's just no good reason for a grown man to have that haircut, IMO..
