Is there a list somewhere that compiles which studio owns which Marvel character? I've looked and only came up with the high-profile ones like Spidey and FF, but Namor having the Namor rights surprised me. I thought Marvel Studios had the rights to everyone except the X-Men, Spidey and the FF characters.

Me too. I guess he doesn't want a movie to be made of himself.

I knew Namor owned a studio, but I never realized that it was Universal!

heh, Namor did own a movie studio in a very early issue of Fantastic Four.

I've always been curious if Marvel could get away with using Jessica Drew, Spider-Woman, in one of their movies. Marvel holds the rights to the character, but I wonder if Sony would make a fuss about them having such a similar named character.

I would never expect her to headline a solo film, she's not that popular. But if Carol Danvers shows up in the MCU I'd love to see Jessica show up as well since they're best friends in the comics.

Why? I'd rather the Mandarin be Killian than the drugged up foolish actor.

Maybe it's for SHIELD? They have to protect him from AIM?

I thought Trevor was hysterical. A thousand fanboys screaming in the darkness...

But, actually, I liked Trevor, it was nice to have a twist that I didn't see coming, and I'm not so beholden to the comics that I didn't mind things being shook up.

I hope he filmed new scenes as Trevor. I never expected Ben Kingsley to be as funny as he was.

Huh? The first movie's Ten Rings weren't involved in the film. Their imagery was just co-opted by Killian.

I thought his Mandarin worked well for that movie. Iron Man also seemed to play the loosest with its villains of all the Marvel movies. It was a good twist. It allowed them to continue with the themes they've always had. A generic terrorist (or Chinese stereotype) would not have worked as well.

But I'm looking forward to see what they come up with. Ben Kingsley did a great job with that role. I could see him encountering the 10 Rings organization, who is angry at him for stealing their imagery. Alternatively, it could just be a light-hearted scene - particularly if it's a one shot (I doubt they'll use that to reveal anything significant). However, if it's for Agents of SHIELD, it could be a major plot point.

I thought this as well. I've only seen Iron Man 3 once, but don't think that anything they said contradicted this possibility.

^ It would seem that you are right. If Latino Review is to be believed...

...there is a real Mandarin out there-- And he's pissed at Killian and Trevor Slattery.

Well, Trevor did mention that he had had plastic surgery. Maybe he was altered to look like the real deal. That way Kingsley can still play the real Mandarin.

Daredevil was my thought before I even clicked on the link. It also gives me hope that Matt Murdock would have a larger role in a Daredevil film (as opposed to just Daredevil). I don't think there's any rush because I don't think he's quite as fitting in this universe, but he would be cool to see eventually.
