I've been away from Star Trek for a long time so I thought I would seek some help getting back into it... First off, how badly is the new movie disrupting existing continuity or is it fitting it pretty well so far? Or is it a reboot, which some quick reading here suggests. Second, what is the current state of the Next Generation, Deep Space Nine and Voyager crews after the movie Nemesis? And finally, are the Star Trek: Destiny books any good and would they be accessible for someone who is not really an in-depth follower of Star Trek? What I've read about them does sound interesting...

As far as the movie goes, Nero and Spock travel to the pre-TOS time period of the film, and things happen from there from my understanding. So it's basically a TOS reboot, but the TOS-Nemesis continuity remains unaffected. Can't really help with your other questions since I haven't read much in the way of Trek literature.
From my perspective, there's closure for the Romulan War (which has been going for several TV Movies, no full seasons sadly) and a Federation being founded...
