What's betta: Star Trek TNG or nuBSG?

I prefer TNG, but I have to agree with Klaus that it's a pretty difficult comparison. I mean, what do I like better, steak or chocolate? When I'm in the mood for steak, chocolate won't do the job - and vice versa.

I like oranges better than apples. So nuBSG.

nuBSG by a very, VERY long shot. IMHO it beats TNG on just about every level, whether it's writing, acting (if you consider all the cast and not just individuals), music, effects (ok, that one's not fair), or just about anything I can think of. I also found it to be substantially more thought provoking and engaging.

They're totally different kinds of shows, made for totally different times. But being a diehard Trek fan, I guess I'd have to lean towards TNG.

BSG had much stronger writing, but I just have a huge soft spot for the TNG characters.

I loved nuBSG, but I grew up on TNG...it's a show I associate very closely with my childhood and the adventures of Picard and co, and thus will always hold a special place for me.

NuBSG. The first two seasons, anyway. TNG has aged very, very badly. It's far too sterile and sanitized. Everyone's so bloody perfect it's nauseating.

I like a number of shows better than nuBSG, TNG very highly among them. That being said, I thought BSG was a pretty solid, kickass show.
