Well now that we are all at peace and one big happy Federation family why not resurrect it?
I don't recall Genesis coming up on Voyager at all.
Genesis was a failure. The purpose was to create new planets for settlements. The problem was, without protomatter, the process would take maybe 5 million years to do. With protomatter, you have a big booom, and a fully formed planet and environment in maybe a week. But a week later the planet destroys itself. FAILURE.
But as a pure weapon its golden. Surprising they would not have used that on the borg...
In theory the power of GENESIS surpasses that of V'Ger. in theory a single genesis device could destroy V'Ger.
Starfleet has only been able to destroy Borg ships at massive losses to itself. SO something that powerful would be vital.
In the episode Worf won/didn't win the batleth tournament on the Klingon homeworld and ended up in a diferent dimension, we learned that in one dimension star fleet had been able to capture the cube at Wolf 359 and had an instant retaliatory invasion by every borg vessel and all of humanity was destroyed.
If its humane to build a large matter/antimatter warhead into the nose of every Defiant class with the purpose of ramming it into a borg cube to cause about the same damage as a Galaxy class warp core breach. Then a single genesis device could be humane as well.
Consider most humans in the trek universe consider killing drones to be an act of mercy for the drone.
But what if they did adapt to it, they would have an even more terrible weapon on their hands. Now you have me imagining the visual of a Genesis torpedo hitting a borg cube. I imagine they can't adapt, and will be turned into something else.
David: Hey Grandad, do you have any ideas for our project?Mind you that (aside from being in another timeline) it is around 25 years between the time we see an Admiral Marcus and then David Marcus working on Genesis. Admiral Marcus could be retired. David certainly didn't have much of a liking for the "military".
The Klingon Ambassador makes a statement the planet was for the Klingon people...
