Whatever happened to the characters after TUC/GEN?

I started a thread on this over 10 years ago that’s no longer there, and thought I’d try again. Without going into my own ideas right off the bat, what are some of yours? Whatever became of our TOS heroes?

Spock, Scotty, and Kirk all have established fates by now. McCoy doesn't die for good until sometime after "Encounter at Farpoint". That leaves Sulu, Uhura, and Chekov.

Or do you mean what happened to them in between the end of TUC/GEN and their ultimate known last appearances (and in Scott and McCoy's case, after they left the Enterprise-D?)

In the RELICS tie-in novel, Scotty discovers some of the others besides Kirk have been declared dead. His character just might outlive prime-Spock. From the wording, we might assume at least one of the ''little three'' bridge-butts have passed on before or after McCoy. But the ''day-player'' trio's specific fates are frustratingly vague. Everyone thinks Kirk died first. But who truly did?

Courtesy of ST: Picard, we do get inklings of the futures of Uhura and Chekov, but there's a lot of space to fill in the blanks.

-I prefer the idea of Uhura heading Starfleet Intelligence from the novels.
-I also like the idea of Demora Sulu becoming Enterprise-B's captain and her or her son sponsoring Chakotay to go to the academy. That said, the implication that it was Hikaru Sulu is fine but might be a bit too much fan service.

I must know what happened to Rand, Chapel, Chekov and Uhura. I'll sacrifice Sulu, whether his full fate is established or not. No offense, Hikaru.

Rand- Opened a successful chain of hair weaving salons.
Chapel- Wrote the best seller "The Spock Only I Ever Knew"
Chekov- Host of the holoseries "Russian Inventions of the Last 1000 Years"
Uhura- Judge on "The Federation's Got Talent"

I don’t need to know every last detail, but I would have liked the chronologically last official scene of the extended TOS era to be something beyond the downer of Kirk having just “died”. I arbitrarily assume that aside from Scotty and Spock (who’d already been there/done that), they all grew up to be Captains and more.

I need fates, not occupations. The ''died'' instead of the ''did.''

Kirk — in the Nexus (aka: Avalon, thlon’Thlra, The Ember of Tor) until the Federation needs him most, the once and future Captain.

Spock — lost in a parallel universe helping rebuild Vulcan civilization…with his new family? (alternatively, Federation High Commissioner to the Transdimensional Vulcan Restoration Effort)

McCoy — passed away quietly surrounded by his friends, family, and wife, shortly after completing inspection of the new Federation flagship Enterprise.

Scotty — wouldn’t you like to know.

Sulu — went down on the bridge of the Excelsior ending the first Tzenkethi War. The one in the museum is in homage to the original.

Uhura — head of Starfleet Intelligence, until her reported assassination.

Chekov — had a big Russian family after the loss of Kirk on the Enterprise-B, and did a brief stint as the largely ceremonial Russian representative to the United Earth government, which nonetheless greatly influenced his young son Anton.

Chapel — opened a private practice with her husband on Berengaria.

Rand — retired from Starfleet after the War and settled into a life of love, dancing, friends, and travel.

M'Benga — with his daughter.

Kyle — the last known victim of the Ceti Eel.

Those are their fates. They had those jobs until they died. Chapel got rich on the talkshow circuit. Died with the words "My name is Christine" on her lips.
lol what’s this in reference to? I wanna get the joke.
