Whatever Happened to Richard Mandel's FASA Artwork?

Hello to all. About a year or two ago, I was checking out 'Starfleet Network' and its Federation Spaceflight Chronology (FSC) series based on what they they called the 'Prime One timeline'. They did a rather nice job of blending the ships of FASA's The Romulan War history with that of the Starfleet Museum's. They also had a Ship Design Schematics forum where there were some really beautiful schematics of the FASA Earth ships (namely, the wartime Marshall-class Destroyer, the pre-war Cavalry-class Destroyer, and the post-war Patton-class (Marshall upgrade) Destroyer). There was, at least supposed to be, further schematics of the Armstrong-class and Wright-class Cruisers (as they were shown in the FSC). I didn't visit the site again until very recently. I was very disappointed to find that the site went under. The FSC is still around as a multiple .pdf archive on some German website, which I've found and enjoy still. However, the Ship Schematics forum got flushed somehow off the Internet (yeah, I know that always happens...:(:scream:). The guy who ran the forum and re-designed a lot of the FASA Earth ships was Richard Mandel. Did anyone here ever try to archive and save any of his schematics before Starfleet Network went bye-bye?? If so, I'd really like to download them to go with my hardcopy 'Romulan War' collection of ship schematics. Thanks.

The Star Fleet Network was my doing, and ultimately, I was responsible for it ceasing to exist. My interest in Trek has been waxing and waning for the past year, and I wasn't entirely sure if I would keep up with it. With the announcement of Trek XI and its spin on what we have seen and heard, my interest in alternate Treks is rekindled. I have a new domain planned for. I just need time to implement it.

Regarding the FSC Files. I will talk to my hosting provider and find out if he has archived those files.

Re: 油5

^^^ Chinese spam. Tastes like chicken.

I have a bunch of the old FASA designs on the SSDB. Don't know if I have all of them, but quite a lot there. Some of them were fantastic. Others...well...there was the Fenlon-class monitor.

Thanks, Capt_Jason. You did a great job with the old site, and I look forward to seeing the new one in the future. Good luck with it! Also, the German website that I saw the FSC .pdfs at was as follows: "Star Trek Timelines- Andorian's Office at SpaceStation K7"-- http://www.k7.kobarg.de/timeline.php?q=fsc . It shows both original and revised editions of all 10 FSC volumes, apart from the original 'Adversaries' supplements (Klingon & Romulan).

Hey, 137th Gebirg, all spam tastes like chicken with enough ketchup or hot sauce on it . BTW, I did look at the pre-TOS designs at SSDB. None of them really matched those of Starfleet Network. The closest one to the FASA designs (from the 1986 supplement, The Romulan War) was of the Patton-class Destroyer, but that came from the old way-back original 1980 book Star Trek Spaceflight Chronology (whereas the FSC works are much more recent). Thanks for the tip, though, I've got that site put into my Favorites as well :techman:.
