Whatever happened to...me?

Hey all,

I don't know if anyone has wondered where I've been the last two years or so (maybe more, not sure when my last post was) but I have been working on an original work, a series of crime novels. One is finished, typed, and in beta reading stage; and the second is nearing completion.

I regret having to abandon all of the stories I had been writing on here, several unfinished, (Pytheas, Border Banshee, Aurora, TNG reboot, etc.) but the original stuff has to take priority.

That said, I would like to return to writing Star Trek fan fiction and am working on something, but I will not post any of it until I have finished it, so no one is left wondering what happened to this person or that, or this plot or that. I've been guilty of that many times in the past, but not any longer.

It's taken a while, but I am now fully confident in my writing abilities.

You may be asking what type of story I am planning to write and I will give you this much:

It will not be a "galaxy-in-peril" story, other people do that and do it well (you know who you are, UT people) but something more suited to my talents as a writer.

What I am planning is a short, 5,000 words or so, story about a PI with an interesting background. Think something like Knightrider (without the Knight Foundation backing him up) mixed with a little Shaft. I'll do one and if I can get it finished, we'll see about more. I'm not sure about the time frame yet, but I'm leaning toward post-Romulan War/Early Federation.

Watch this space...

What a nice surprise!

I can totally relate to your situation, BB. I took off for several years myself to focus on my original works. Now that my novel is in the proofreading stages, I found time to come back and resume my fan fiction tales, several of which were abandoned half way though.

I hope to balance both interests, because I enjoy doing both. So hopefully, I'll continue to stick around for a while longer.

I'm glad you're back for however long it lasts and I look forward to any work you post.

Best of luck in all your pursuits!

To echo Galen, welcome back!

Looking forward to reading your stuff again, either within the UT-verse or outside of it.

Welcome back, BB! Yeah - I can relate to the unfinished-story-leave-them-hanging thing. :( Guilty as charged.
Congrats on your original fiction project and your in-the-works P.I. adventure - sounds great! :bolian:
