What'd be the Doctor's punishment for getting frisky with a patient?

Re: What'd be the Doctor's punishment for getting frisky with a patien

Yeah, Doctors aren't allowed to get involved with patients like that on grounds of it tampering with their objectivity.

well, the rules of the 24th century have been shown to be different. Subordinates and supervisors in Starfleet apparently have romantic relationships, so why not for doctor/patient?. I can't remember offhand, maybe I'm remembering wrong, didn't Dr. Crusher get involved in a relationship with a patient or two?

That Trill in Riker belly.

I can't believe there were no repercussions about that tryst, in at the very least novels... Gods Picard married the women and Riker didn't get smug? (Emphasis on Riker being a dick.)

If Serena was so into Julian, why did she fake a relapse to avoid his penis?

Did she feel powerless to express her feelings as more important than his desire to get her on all fours?

Didn't Dr. Crusher's romantic relationship with her Trill patient deal with the ethics of such things?

Re: What'd be the Doctor's punishment for getting frisky with a patien

No? It just showed that she was homophobic.

Re: What'd be the Doctor's punishment for getting frisky with a patien

not being interested in a same-sex romantic relationship IS NOT HOMOPHOBIA. It is just a person's orientation.

KAREEL: Yes. It seems as though everything has turned out for the best. And yes, I am still Odan, and I still love you. I cannot imagine that ever changing.
CRUSHER: I am glad that you're all right.
KAREEL: Is there to be nothing more?
CRUSHER: Perhaps it is a human failing, but we are not accustomed to these kinds of changes. I can't keep up. How long will you have this host? What would the next one be? I can't live with that kind of uncertainty. Perhaps, someday, our ability to love won't be so limited.
KAREEL: I understand.
CRUSHER: Odan, I do love you. Please remember that.
(Kareel takes Beverly's hand and kisses her wrist)
KAREEL: I will never forget you.
She loved the slug.

The slug didn't have a gender(?).

She screwed a monkey (Riker) the slug was using as a sex puppet to trade joy with the slug.

LOVED.

Sex is an expression of love not some treacherous mountain scale to orgasm surely.

The outward flesh didn't matter, only the slug.

...If she loved the slug.

Seriously she's sitting at her desk, practically resisting the urge skip because she wants to throw herself at this "man" like a face-hugger from Aliens who Bev wants to make babies with, and then that smile turns into a frown like some one shat on her cornflakes as she sets her eyes on the latest model.

Surely it didn't matter if the new puppet "it" was wearing had 9 breasts and two penises, god save us if it was a Klingon or a Norsican, the excuses she would make up because of first but not exclusively the smell.

If Jack Crusher had survived but with a physical handicap like Pike. Or maybe his penis got cut off. And the doctors were enlightened enough to think that the sexes were equal and no would really care...

Would Beverly have divorced her husband, the father of her whiny milksop brat because she couldn't deal with the uncertainty of his sexuality?

If Bev had the stones to channel her inner lady MacBeth she would have poisoned Odan and crossed her fingers that they brought her a dude for him to dress up in this time. Keep killing the tripple x's till she found some satisfying y chromosome to tie to her bed posts.

Although if she just volunteered as host herself.

Well she has no issue with playing the piano on those lady parts.

Frankly the "uncertainty" of a never ending parade of male suitors carrying the personality of her lover didn't phase her. A cavalcade of cocks. Bev was into that. She probably thought that she could get him to switch to a sexier body any time she wanted...

But the slug was cornered into a woman just the once and it got the flick.

Homophobia.

It might not have been homophobia if she just said "I would have preferred you had a penis, actually to be with me, you need a penis. I'm exclusively about penises. Thank you, if you ever come by another penis, please consider getting in touch with me."

That's what sexual preference sounds like.

Instead, Beverly lied to Odan and lied to herself to sabotage a relationship with someone who loved her as all-consumingly as she did "him". It's the lying to herself which is the true earmark of trouble.

That's deep rooted psychological shit.

Some where in the "fear" ballpark perhaps?

But.. Guy feeds on hyperbole. It makes him mighty.

Yes. YES, a MILLION times YES!

Oh.

By the way. In Warlord on Voyager. There was a guy in control of Kes's body who didn't have a problem with making out with or marrying guys. In fact to ensure his dynasty he would have to allow/enjoy enough sex with men while he was driving kes female body to have babies, which he would then body hop into "becoming" his own child, which might be bad if he still had lingering feelings and urges for/toward his former lover his "father".

They hardly knew each other. What was it, a few days? She spends decades working with Picard without noticing he is the one for her and yet she falls for this dude in 5 minutes? It never seemed very Beverly. I kept waiting for there to be some Elasian tears deal going on.

By the way. In Warlord on Voyager.
I read that whole paragraph as "I'm Warlord on Voyager" but now that I quote it I see that is not the case which is a shame.

Yes, Warlord is the rank here at the trekbbs 10 thousand posts after Admiral.

Seriously, they need to invent some new ranks.

I've been an Admiral for over a decade now.

Is this how Kim felt stuck in the same dead end job for 7 years?

...

How many episodes had Beverly fall for some one?

There's a double standard here supposed by the writers of the time, that if a female character tries to have sex without falling in love, then she's a slut, which is ridiculous, but still just a hold over of even less enlightened times.

I found a list of her infatuations.

Stefan (she was 8, he played soccer.)

She shagged some guy rotten for 24 hours an forgot to ask his name, then told him to sod off y the time her toes uncurled. (Mentioned in the Price)

Jack

Odan

John Doe (Transfigurations)

Ronin (Sub Rosa.)

Jean Luc? There's a possibility that After All Good Things that Jean Luc thought that a failed marriage wasn't worth his time considering the mental illness imminent in his future that he ought to look for a successful relationship rather than a predoomed one.

Libido's are like camels.
