What would you do if you had a robot?

What do you mean, "if"?
Okay, obviously, it's not a true robot but rather an illuminated and audio producing "display piece".

The OP circumstance is curious, but I'd like to reframe it this way:
"What if a sentient robot (android) from the future was somehow transported back in time, a one way trip, and you encountered it. What would you do?"
First things first, a really focused interview. I'd like to know everything I possibly can about the android, help it assess its situation, and if it recognized that it no longer had a purpose -- because it was lost forever in this time period, never to return to the future, then I'd see about convincing it to take new directives.
If it's highly intelligent, I'd get it to assess me and my situation, and help plan some corrective action to improve my life. Perhaps even a plan for future financial independence. Next... address the problems in human society today. See if it can understand all of what is going on and come up with solutions. Of course there would be many unfeasible, because of the political dynamic at hand today, but hopefully some solutions could be devised that are workable. I'd then work with the android to craft some proposals to address with local and state politicians. Start the wheels churning. And who knows, maybe help make a positive difference.

Lastly, after an improved life situation, I'd work with the android to see about the development of manufacturing technologies so that the android could construct another of its kind. Because two highly intelligent minds are better than one! ;)

Wow, you really have one of those uber expensive full size LIS B9 robot replicas?

Actually, that is a fan built unit. A fellow in Florida purchased components from various fans/vendors who make and sell specific parts. He had just moved into a condo that did not have the room needed to properly display the "Robot" and thus listed it for sale through his private site. He sold it "at a loss" as he didn't have the resources to store it long term. Relatively speaking, yeah, it was expensive, but NOWHERE near as expensive as the commercially licensed replicas currently offered.

Sounds like it worked out well for you -- terrific conversation piece. :techman:
Yeah, if you're handy enough, definitely better going the route of building one of these rather than buying the pre-built ones. There's also a whole slew of customizing options (watched a few videos and read a few websites on this years ago).
