Probably a civilian scientist.

That will be not much different from what I do today, but my equipment would actually work properly. :shifty:

I don't think there will be what you call "worthless citizens", bumming their day without doing nothing. They will get bored fast, and they will probably face the social pressure to make use of whatever talent or ability they have. Sure, some people may be just lazy, but I think that's human nature. Sooner or later, they will find something they would like to do (maybe even just playing holonovels and writing reviews of them).

I'd be doing something outside, in some type of civil engineering profession, maybe colony building / establishing or possibly terraforming projects. But since I'm a greedy capitolist at heart I would do most of my work outside the federation.

Non Federation Citizen (who is in business for himself.)

I'd be a merchant selling artifacts and trinkets I picked up from wrecks, the desperate and markets on Rigel. I'd hang around the Ferengi a lot. I would not be a Federation member but have aligned myself with some useless independant colony that would never extract taxes from me because I had enough distance between us to not make it worth their while.

I voted other, as what I would be isnt on there.

I will be a Pathfinder.

This isnt in the Marine sense of the word. A pathfinder in the future sense is much like Captain Kirk was, those who seek out new worlds and investigate them, but, and its a big but, in a peace keeping way.

I would totally be a member of Starfleet specifically focused in the area of engineering. Now, whether or not I'd be an officer or not is up for grabs. I might instead opt for the NCO route like O'Brien went that way I'll never have to take any classes in exo-botany ;).

I voted StarFleet Officer because of my military background. Although I had qualifications to be MACO, I would rather go StarFleet command officer. The idea of being a shiftless interplanetary vacationer also sounds appealing.

I chose Federation Citizen, but I would really like to become a Non-Com and be something like Med Lab Tech or being a historian on board a Starship.

What I would want to be: either a Starfleet officer or a successful author of holonovels. :techman:
What I probably would be: a complete and total slacker.

As I am currently studying to be a clinical psychologist, I would probably want to be a Ship's Counsellor. Then I could be a psychologist, in space.

I definetly would be a Federation Citizen,
For work writing/directing/editing holonovels and maybe freelancing for the Federation News Service in some fashion:techman:
Later in life, I might just run for some public office..or even to the Federation Council.
I cant really imagine myself in Starfleet:vulcan:
I would be living, with my girlfriend..and few cats, in a medium sized modern house, in some quiet suburb area that is surrounded with beautiful nature, and has a big garden.
I think we would be maybe living somewhere in America, because she would propably work in the Institue of langues in Brazil, because she has a head for langues:cool:
As an hobby I would propably read books about history, watch some holomovies, read obsolite comic books, write stories, paint, draw..and chat with my Klingon, Betazoid, Bolian and Vulcan friends via subspace:hugegrin:
(keeping the cats from playing with the transporter would be also in the agenda, im sure:lol:...)
I would propably own a private shuttlecraft of my own, so I could do some travelling, take my gf to work, maybe some occasional space exploration of my own..or maybe just fly around for fun:D..

An "Other". Absolutely! That describes me perfectly. :techman:

I would be just as absurdly out of place in the 22nd, 23rd, or 24th Century, as I am in this 21st one. ;)

I would like to be a civilian freighter captain. So that would be Federation Citizen (or, if ENT era, Earth Citizen).

I'd expect that a modern day college education would be roughly the equal to a middle school education in the Star Trek setting. To that end, worthless Federation citizen seems most likely.

On the other hand, for all their education most of the humans in the Star Trek setting are shockingly stupid, so maybe a Harry Mudd type con man (pirate being the closest on the poll), except without the flamboyance.
