What would happen (TARDIS question)

A Facebook friend asked this question, which I don't know the answer to so I asked her if I could share the question here.

I haven't watched Doctor Who since Sylvester McCoy, and even then it's been a really long time, but I got to wondering...what happens if a TARDIS blows up?
I mean, it's bigger on the inside than the outside, yes? So what would happen if it exploded, if its walls were to be burst open. What would happen to all of that extra space inside?

If I get answers I will post a link to this page for her to read.

Well. The last time it did that the Universe ended, cause the TARDIS blew up basically in all point in time and space, or something like that.

As the interior of the TARDIS is in an entirely different dimension from the exterior, not a lot would happen from our POV. Most likely the dimensional portal at the TARDIS's entrance would be cut off by the beginning of the explosion, and all we'd see is the plasmic shell (the police box exterior) disintegrate.

That, or it'd instantly take out our entire solar system and a few celestial neighbors beside. Never can be too sure with those antiques.

I would assume it would all burst out and displace whatever area around it the actual size of the interior would take up. Basically an enormous explosiony thing.

^well that's not entirely accurate 99.9999999999999999999999999...... % of the universe ended.

But this was covered by the 11th Doctor's first season, esp. the final episode "The Big Bang"

Well that was probably a special case, otherwise every destroyed TARDIS during the war would have ended the universe.

We also saw several TARDISs worth of material strewn about the pocket dimension planet in The Doctor's Wife. 5(?) also jettisoned like 40% of the interior once.. . . somehow.

That's death/depowering a TARDIS and dropping mass...someplace. Exploding is something else.

Though in an instance were two TARDIS merge (well the same TARDIS really) the paradox explosion is only really the size of Belgium. But it takes out an area of that in all of Time and Space. Rather unclimatic that.
