What will we get this Summer?

I believe that Gallery is specifically a trade paperback imprint, so mass-market paperbacks will still be labeled as Pocket Books.

Really? Then why were the Abramsverse books in the Gallery catalog?

For the same reason, I suppose, that previous S&S catalogs also included listings from multiple S&S imprints. I guess it's easier to combine them than to publish a different catalog for each imprint, especially since some imprints have relatively few titles released in a given season. In this case, the catalog includes not just Gallery and Pocket, but Pocket Star (all tie-ins but Trek), Threshold Editions (right-wing political books), and Karen Hunter Publishing (African-American women's books, apparently) as well.

Thanks to rather high word counts, the final eight Corps of Engineers eBooks would really need to be in two trade paperbacks. (As it is, What's Past is gonna be pretty thick....)

Out of curiosity, aside from the two or three part stories being joined, are there any changes made to the stories from the original ebook version to the reprint?

I remember one of the authors blogs, can't remember which one, saying they were given the opportunity to change dedication and acknowledgments but not the story itself. I'm guessing this is a result that this is a rush job. :)

I can back up Kevin's post. I was only given the chance to change dedications and acknowledgements on Progress, which was welcome since one of the Tuckerized characters had their namesake pass on since the eBook was published.

We're also given the opportunity to fix simple typos and such (for example, there are two occasions in "Many Splendors" where someone calls Gomez "Ensign" after she's been promoted to lieutenant; that has been fixed :D ).

Ah, that's good to know. There are a few minor things I'd like to correct before publication.

I can exclusively reveal that the print version of The Future Begins will have exactly 192 words of extra content.

Be excited!!!

Oh good; my next question was going to be, after you mentioned that What's Past would be really long, if they actually were doing all 6 stories because the last 2 authors aren't listed on amazon.

But I imagine, if you did edits, then your story is gonna be in there.

^ Yes, because Amazon is infallible, and never ever ever makes mistakes. *nods*

:D

Yeah, "Many Splendors" (and, for that matter, "10 is Better than 01") will be in there, worry not.

This reminds me of my brother-in-law once joking that he'd love to make a movie with an extended cut on DVD that consisted of one character suddenly saying the middle of the movie, "Hey, I'm going to go to Jack's house," and then getting up and walking out of the scene. Then there's be a single long shot down a street with the character walking towards the camera from the horizon. Minutes later, he'd finally fill the frame, look dead into the camera, and say, "Additional footage," and then step aside and let the movie continue as normal.

Which I guess is sort of similar to the "Do you think they'll cut this scene" scene that was added back into the DVD of Monty Python's Holy Grail, which is really only funny because they did.

I know this is somewhat off topic, but it is SCE related, and it's a simple question that doesn't really deserve it's own thread. A couple weeks ago I was looking at the Mirror Universe series on Memory Beta, and it said that a MU SCE story had been planned as a companion to Shards and Shadows. I was wondering how far along this actually got before the Ebooks were canceled? Is there any chance of ever seeing it somewhere? After all SCE is now the only TrekLit series to not have an MU story, and I would be very curious to see what it's Mirror characters are like.
