What will Luke Skywalker do in the next movies? SPOILERS

Snoke turned Ben to the Dark Side after the Solo's sent him to train with Luke. How Ben fell in with the Knights of Ren is not known. They seem to be some sort of Vader cultist or something. Snoke was likely an Imperial Admiral or something. Perhaps an Emperor's Hand or whatever.

Yeah, but Leia knew about Snoke and Snoke knows about Luke, I find it hard to believe Luke hasn't faced him and lost to him. As for Snoke's origins we know nothing about him and where he came from.

Part 2 will most likely be a huge training montage of Luke/Rey and Snoke/Kylo Ren while both sides try to maneuver and gain a strategic advantage.

I guess the third movie will be about the final confrontation of Rey/Kylo Ren and Skywalker/Snoke with Luke trying to get Ben back to the light side (and maybe it'll be 3 vs Snoke to show how powerful he actually is).

If they really feel bold they might even kill off Luke so Rey has to go apeshit and unleash her full potential to destroy Snoke.

What they will do to fill out the movies with a bigger story is anyones guess, i just hope it's not another superweapon.

What's interesting to me is how Kylo Ren wound up with Vader's mask. Did he steal it from Luke's Academy? Did Snoke use it to lure Ben to the Dark Side? Was it in the possession of the Knights of Ren (being the source of their cult-worship)?

I have to say I'm really tired of the whole Master/Apprentice thing. What I'd love to see is a small group of trainee's back at the temple.

The last thing I want to see is the opening scroll of Episode 8 starting with "Several years have passed..."

Nope. A real Jedi master has to have a beard.

I think maybe it was the group of students at the Academy that Ren killed in his fall to the dark side. It could be that is why Jedi (and Sith for that matter) are trained one on one with a Master and Apprentice.

What will Luke do in the next movie? Force train Rey and Fin, and before episode 9 is over my gut tells me he force animates that dead fleet on Jakkuu against the First Order Fleet. Huge leap from him struggling lifting a X-Wing in ESB. Big demonstration to Rey what you can do with the force and to the audience how his skill and power have grown. Possible reason Snoke is after him. Luke coming into a confrontation with Ren and having the rude emotional setback of finding Ren with his dad's helmet. Other than that can't speculate much.

I don't think it necessarily makes him Force-sensitive, but a major thing about Finn is that he was resistant to stormtrooper conditioning, whatever that is. I'd like to find out more about that.

What makes you think Finn is force-sensitive?

He already now has experience with Luke's light saber fighting with Kylo Ren. I can't see The Resistance not trying to build on Fin as a investment.

So when Han picked up the lightsaber to cut open that creature on Hoth that automatically made him force-sensitive?

A lightsaber is a tool.

I guess he (or someone else) recovered it from the funeral pyre on Endor. It sure seems to be a powerful memento for Dark Side users to have something that belonged to a Sith lord, much less one you're actually related to.

Please no.. it was bad enough that Rey got so good so quick with the Force without training but Luke lifting millions of tons of metal would be unreal and destroy all sense of continuity (Yoda, arguably one of the most powerful Jedi Masters ever to live had to concentrate to lift the X-Wing or struggled to hold back the rocks that were about to be dropped on him by Dooku).

I'd guess he let's her keep Anakin's lightsaber while he continues to use the green one he made after losing it on Bespin.

I agree. It's all speculation here. With the title of Force Awakening it implies or suggests the force is expanding opening up to everyone not just force sensitive people. Similar to the Newtypes in the Gundam universe. Scarce at first, but much more common later on. Same idea. And if it weren't Ren would have killed Fin instantly with Luke's light saber. Again just speculation here.

On my speculation on Luke reanimating the Jakkuu wreckage ala Ursula from Little Mermaid with the shipwrecks. No dead soldiers. After all Disney has already shown precedence and they now own the SW franchise. ( shudder....groan. ) It struck me as what you would expect from Disney / Abrams / whomever upping the holy crap ante wow mind blow factor for movie goers. Idea being that he outlined episodes 8 and 9 and if I smell him right expect something like this in the cards to take things over the top for movie goers to surpass the wow factor of Jedi. In ROTJ the emperor had the most and best toys. Now years later if Luke does such a thing in 8 or 9 then it would be a interesting role reversal of having him hurl those wrecks at the First order ships. Luke seeking the Original Jedi temple and Jedi roots smacks of Lords of Kobol TOS Galactica, and he may have as a result learned and surpassed Yoda who was waning in strength and age when he fought Dooku and later the emperor in ROTS. I presume the Republic Jedi didn't get the benefit of access to Jedi origin quest. So by Empire for a severely aged Jedi Master just lifting a X-Wing is about as much as he could muster before his death. And if Luke has indeed grown this strong then his own capabilities would be frightening him as to make that much power that much easier for him to fall prey to the dark side and cause mass destruction and death. Definitely the very path his father took he is desperately seeking to avoid. Another reason for him to go into exile so he minimizes the risk of hurting others. In short he has become afraid of himself and what he knows he can do. That would be seen as a real serious threat to Snoke.( sounds like snake..)

On Ren not being killed by Luke my guess he couldn't out of his respect and emotional attachment to Leah and Han and disappeared to avoid killing Ren. But with Han killed by Ren Luke now has a reason to kill Ren. If Ren killed Han, he won't hesitate to kill Leah. This would force Luke no other choice but to confront and kill Ren. I don't see him turning after killing his dad. As to speculating why Ren turned to the dark side, it may be just a case of a kid seeking his identity trying to get out from under his parent's and Luke's shadows. The only way for a kid in that situation to rise to their level in the wake of ROTJ is to become their adversary. The classic story of kid turning on their parents seeking to be greater than them instead of living in their shadows.

Ren is hardly a skilled user of the lightsabre though saying that he clearly has immense use of the force itself but still Luke could of easily kicked his ass, so I wonder if they will explain why he didn't.

I hope to see a Luke/Snoke showdown at some point in the trilogy.
