Captain
Captain
Every year I look forward to the thread where we all look back at what we read, Star Trek and otherwise, over the previous year. I'm going to go ahead and start 2016's thread now.

I don't feel I read as much last year as I have in previous years, but I had an extremely busy year with two major landscaping projects to finish and a lot of travel visiting with two new grandsons. Still, it was a great reading year, and in other ways as well.

Too much Trek this year. Well too much of the old wrong series just to finish things up: Stranger New Worlds and Shatnerverse. Those just aren't my series and that was 15 books there. The other reason the list is a bit high is because I wanted to finish up everything I didn't read from 2015, which was about half the Pocket books. Anyway, here's the complete list:

Prey: Book Three: The Hall of Heroes
Prey: Book Two: The Jackal's Trick
Strange New Worlds 2016
Prey: Book One: Hell's Heart
Star Trek: The Classic UK Comics Volume 1
SHATNER: Collision Course
SHATNER: Captain's Glory
SHATNER: Captain's Blood
TOS: The Latter Fire
SHATNER: Captain's Peril
Legacies: Book #3: Purgatory's Key
Hidden Universe Travel Guides: Star Trek: Vulcan
DTI: Time Lock
SHATNER: Preserver
Star Trek: The Next Generation 365
TOS: Elusive Salvation
SHATNER: Dark Victory
Legacies #2: Best Defense
ENT: Live by the Code
SHATNER: Spectre
Legacies: Book 1: Captain to Captain
DS9: Force and Motion
DS9: Rules of Accusation
VOY: A Pocket Full of Lies
DS9: Ascendance
TOS: Child of Two Worlds
The Autobiography of James T. Kirk
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 10
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 9
Seekers #4: All That's Left
Seekers #3: Long Shot
TOS: Miasma
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds 8
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds VII
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds VI
TTN: Sight Unseen
TOS: Crisis of Consciousness
ENT: Uncertain Logic
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds V
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds IV
VOY: Atonement
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds III

This year it's just what's published this year, a couple of books like Ship of the Line and UK comic and comic strip books and maybe a handful of the old numbered TOS books. I have 35 of those to go before I've finished off the complete Pocket book line of Trek but I'm not planning on making a big dent in those this year.

I read quite a bit this year, though my reading skewed more towards graphic novels in the latter part of the year.
I was initially tracking short stories as well, but i missed a few during the year, so that portion of the list is incomplete:

The formating in that is horid and I don't keep a track of what I've read in a year.

I'm so jealous of these huge lists.

I wouldn't be too jealous. I have such a long list because I spend almost 2 hours a day on public transportation commuting to work. Yeah, I'm getting a lot of reading done but there a some days were I just don't feel like reading that much.

Snap. Also a couple of hours a day of commuting (trains and buses). Kindle/tablet/audible are lifesavers here.

The things that stand out to me this year is a dropped plot thread from The Long Earth Book 5: The Long Cosmos - specifically, about a world where Earth is the moon of a super-terrestrial planet.

I started the DS9 relaunch novels with Unity once I realised it was a series I went back to the beginning of the relaunch. I am now up to The Never Ending sacrifice and just bought the pre Destiny TNG stories (I was trying to avoid TNG since I am not a big fan, but they are good and it makes sense to read them in order). I like the world building and the connections between the three relaunch Star Trek universe. Also started with ENT after TATV with The Good that men do. I enjoyed the Romulan series a lot more than I expected to but my fav are Rise of the Federation novels.
Apart from these started Gone Girl in 2015 and not finished it yet, not a fan of the book at all.
