What We Need Is An "Emergency Christmas!"...

K'riq Sa

You want to save the economy Mr. President? Instead of giving those scum sucking bastards more money, which never seems to work, and will not help the economy, especially since they're the ones who got us in this in the first place. Why don't you just give every citizen who filed a tax return with annual incomes from $2,000 - $75,000,, a pre-paid credit card with $25,000 on it, and it should be made available through the Social Security offices. It would spur small business growth and get money flowing through the vines of our faltering financial community, and it just might help those poor Chinese. You can be assured that, that money will reach throughout a wider diversity of people, and that most of that money will spent directly in their communities.

We could just call it the "Emergency Christmas Initiative". I mean who doesn't like Christmas, and a bunch of giftshopping with a $25,000 credit limit to spring the economy and the citizens back to life. and along the way maybe even a few bills might get paid up, some of our personal "toxic assets" can wiped out.

Won't work.

People forget that companies like AIG are more than just about money. Think insurance world wide, even some European sewer and water systems are insured by AIG. We'd have to give cash to them too.

Plus, there are over 7,000 banks in the U.S. that get the money they loan out from these in the media horrible scum sucking banks.

Giving people the money would do nothing, but make people happy for a few days.

I disagree. It would help a lot of people who are unemployed and in debt, and therefore help the banks; there would be a "trickle up" effect.

Christmas once a month!

Actually, I think we should institute an official "Buy Yourself a Present" day.

I could go for that. :D Unfortunately, the special edition of the Pet Shop Boys' new album, "Yes", has been delayed by a week here so I missed out on buying myself something in March. :(

I don't get it. When me Scott and Van celebrated Christmas it was to give thanks to Jesus for keeping the dumpster's of Vander Beek filled with all sorts of nutional goodies to eat. How will celbrating Jesus bring more money into the economy?

I think that's a great idea, with all the money the UK government is making through quantitive easing they can just divide it up and hand it out to everyone over the age of 16. Some will use it to pay credit cards and others to buy stuff helping both banks, manufacturing and all associated industries as well as being a morale boost for the general public.

Vote Gwud for Prime Minister!

Doc: 'Please state the nature of the festive emergency, status of your economy?'
Kim: 'It's dead'
