What We Left Behind documentary - free to watch on YouTube

I think no excuse as in if your someone who's at least mildly interested in seeing it but havnt done so either due to it not being available on an existing platform that you already have, or needing to pay for it as a standalone purchase.

Ofcouse you do not need to watch anything if you don't want to.

Interest is not really the issue.

Time and energy is more the difficulty.

Jesus, the hills you guys choose to die on sometimes.

@AnthonyF

Thanks for sharing. Saw it a few years ago and greatly enjoyed a rewatch today.

And that's why you have no time and energy. Call it a diagnosis.

If we all share "opinions" of what we're not going to do, it's gonna get tedious. No IDIC, just tedium.
I mean...I work 3 jobs. I feel like that's why.

I find amusement in strange ways too. Sorry it is tedious.

Was it ever really off the air? I noticed that Shout Factory pulled some content recently, only to reintroduce it as a "permiere." Perhaps they uploaded a better quality file, or it was an attempt to garner new attention to old content. Regardless, the documentary has played many times on my TV, usually because YouTube keeps defaulting to it (and I get sucked in every time).

The previous upload from a year ago is still up. That one was on the YouTube Movies and TV channel, this one is specifically on the Shout! Studios channel.

A quick comparison gives some unexpected results. At first I thought the new upload was superior. The opening logos on the new upload are a little sharper than the old one. (Images: Old first, then new)

But this random shot I stopped on is much worse than the the old one. (Images: Old first, then new)

And it's not just footage from the TV show. The smoothing is across the whole thing.

It looks like the new upload got the details all smoothed out. Whether that's due to the YouTube upload process or someone at Shout trying to upscale it, I don't know. Either way, the old upload is accurate to the Blu-ray and the new upload is not. ...for what that's worth to anyone. If you don't like too many details and textures, the new upload is the better one. ;)
