Just caught up with season 2. About time!
Really enjoyed it, a very entertaining watch and definitely thought it was an improvement on season 1 as the tone was a bit lighter and it was more focused. Captain Pike was a great addition and Ethan Peck is a very respectable Spock. The whole series felt like a TV version of the Kelvin timeline with the terrific production values and action.
I'm still of the opinion that Michael Burnham is only really interesting because every event that happens in the show seems like it has to be connected to her in some way rather than her actually being an enjoyable character, but after initially being sceptical about her involvement in the Red Angel plot, the story was well told enough for me not to care.
