Spock Must Die!, Spock, Messiah!, as I was discovering older Trek novels at used bookstores.
First one I bought new? The excellent "Entropy Effect".

I started with Blish back in the early 70s. Sure wish I'd held on to those books!![]()
Cap'n Crunch said:For me it was the Maximum Warp duology in 2001. I got them for my 8th grade trip to Washington DC, but didn't really read them until I got back. When I first saw them in the store I was a bit surprised that there were novels based on Star Trek. At the time I was still pretty new to Trek and all I had seen were reruns of TNG, so I thought the cover art with the Enterprise-E (which I had never seen before) was strange.
For me, and I just started this yesterday, it was Vanguard: Harbinger. A Pretty good book so far. About halfway through.

John Vornholt's TNG Contamination. I bought it because it had Troi on the cover, and she was my hero in 7th grade. I've read it at least twice since then. A great read!
I read the James Blish adaptations of TOS scripts when they first came out. I guess that dates me somewhat.
