What was your first experience with a movie?

1979, TMP! 14 times opening week at the grand old movie palace in the little midwestern town in which I was attending community college. (So I was working as a projectionist! I probably would have paid for 10 or so viewings that week anyway!) I was already a fan, having watched TOS during it's original run, though I was only 6 when it premiered, and having been totally hooked on it ever since the local TV channel ran a marathon of it during the Apollo Lunar Landing in '69!

I was so moved by the Enterprise fly by that I had tears in my eyes. It remains one of my favourite films to this day. And the audience with which I first viewed it cheered repeatedly during the film and gave a standing ovation to the little, space-suited figure who waves the grand old lady out of space dock!

How were you introduced to the Star Trek movies? What was the first one you saw in a theatre? Who were you with?

I was first introduced to Star Trek movies in 1986, when "The Voyage Home" came out. I didn't go see it, I was too young at the time, but I remember my older brother going out to see it with a friend of his.

My first Trek movie I saw in the theatre was The Undiscovered Country. From then on, I saw every Trek movie in the theatre except for Insurrection.

Watched Star Trek The Motion Picture in the theater around Dec 1979. There was a small Star Trek convention about a month before that to stir up interest in the upcoming movie. I grew up with the original series and was extremely disappointed in the movie. However, watching The Wrath of Khan on the big screen restored my faith.

I didn't see a Trek film in the theater until Generations, but my father was a big fan of TOS, and the first Trek film I ever saw, fortunately, was "The Wrath of Khan." Yes, an awesome way to get acclimated to Trek films, I agree.

I caught Star Trek III: The Search For Spock when it aired on ABC back in the mid-80's.

It was actually the first time I'd ever seen Star Trek in any form. Soon after I began catching repeats of TOS on television and TNG started up soon after.

1979: Charlotte, North Carolina, my dad took my brother and I to see TMP. I was 8. After Star Wars and the 1978 Superman, TMP was a must-see.

And what ended up fascinating my brother and I the most was "the bald-headed lady." We just didn't stop talking about the bald-headed lady...

The Motion Picture on VHS. I was about seven or eight when it was released. I had been introduced to the TOS at about five years old. Suffice to say, watching the Motion Picture at fourteen, was a seminal moment for me. That time painted a picture of the Enterprise that remains with me today. In that Movie, legends were truely born. That was a precise moment.

If we talking about the 1st trek movie seen at the threates, then my first one would have been generation,if we talking about any movies then if would that been the wrath of khan on video.

TMP. Opening day. Stood in line for a couple of hours (which is not bad at all--considering. One of the benefits of living in a small town). First time through I was too busy oohing and aaahing over big screen Trek visuals to notice how slooooow that movie was.

The first one I saw at the movies was Generations, with my brother, when we were both in high school. Yep, we didn't get many girls. It was pretty exciting at the time because we were both heavily into Trek.

First one ever may have been ST:IV, either on TV or on VHS. But I'm totally not sure about that.

I only remember bits of the TNG movies I watched when I was younger, so my 'first experience' is pretty hazy. But I do vividly watching Nemesis for the first time, nearly cried when Data was bumped off, couldn't believe it. I must have been 10 at the time.

The Voyage Home. I'm convinced my mum took us thinking it was a 4th Star Wars rather than 4th Star Trek.

I went to go see it but the cashier wouldn't let us into the theater after 4PM without an adult because she didn't want us defacing the theater and bothering the other patrons so I had to go down the street to get my mom at the bank where she cashed her check....

No wait a minute, that wasn't me, that was Free eNterprise...

The first one I saw was ST:TMP when it was first shown at the cinema. I remember I took my youngest sister as she was budding early Trekkiie like myself. It was awesome to see the Enterprise and her crew on the big screen. It may not be considered as the best of the movies in the series but it remains my personal favourite. It bought Trek back to the public eye.

I had just turned five and went with my parents to see TMP in December of 1979 or January of 1980. They thought it was slow-moving and dull......but I was riveted by the effects and music, even at that young an age. The movie was one of the first films I ever saw in a theater and I fondly remember it. I still love TMP to this day.

I was 10 and i already loved the show, i got to see ST 2 AND 3, back to back at a drive in. it was a great night, me and my Brother, Sister, and Mom. My Mom and my Sister cried when Spock died, but they already knew he be back in the next movie. A great memory!

I think the first Star Trek movie I saw was the Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country. I only remember bits of that film, but it was good, watching it with my parents in my home. I was probably six or seven at the time.

The first one I remember watching at home was The Voyage Home on VHS.

In theaters, I THINK I saw The Undiscovered Country first, but I was so young that I don't really remember if I did or not. But I went to movies then and was a Star Trek fan, so I think I did see it. I do distinctly remember seeing Generations in theaters, though.

My dad would have been with me both times, as we always saw movies together back then.

Was a TNG fan as a kid, just starting to like Star Trek after seeing All Good Things during its orginal run. It was the first ep i saw in 94. And then I rented ST V from the library bc it was no serice charge ie free. And i remember thinking "Thats not the enterprise...." Didnt get the whole TNG original series thing. Are the different? Which one is first? I didnt relize it was supposed to be 100 years earlier i thought maybe 4 or 5 or so....u kno 89...to 94... but whatever. I liked V. But even as an 11 yr old knew some parts were crap. Still like Uhura getting naked, and hated it at the same time. Hated the stupid jokes. Was sad when McCoys dad died. Thought the film looked cheap and very 1990. purple teal lights. ....

Eh it was ok. I also chewed at an uscler in my mouth an bit if off during the film . No idea why i remember that! Any that was my first ST film.
