What was the last "new" DS9 ep/scene you ever saw?

Rex Racer

This thread is probably more for folks who didn't see portions of DS9 during its run. Somehow I missed lots of DS9's final season back when it aired (college years, don't ask). Finally having the chance to watch the complete series (via repeats and the DVDs), I realized that Chimera was going to be the last episode I'd never seen before. So it was kind of bittersweet watching it. But the final scene of Odo enveloping Kira was so uplifting and powerful that, in a way, I was glad that this was the final "new" scene I'd ever see. Plus Kira is one of my favorite characters EVER so that final shot of her was a nice way to end it for me.

How about you? What was the last new episode/scene of DS9 for you?

The last 'new to me' episode I ever saw was Time's Orphan, which I finally saw when the season 6 DVD sets came out in 2003.

Before that, I missed this one a couple of times...then it sorta became a thing with me to NOT watch it intentionally so that I could say to myself that I had new DS9 to look forward to.

Finally, when I was watching through the series on DVD in 2003, I could put it off no longer.

It was kinda sad watching it, actually.

I think it was either "The Wire" or "Vortex"; I can't remember which one. I didn't start watching DS9 until the third season, so I missed a lot of the early episodes. One episode that I didn't see for a long time was "The Jem'hadar" and when I did finally see it, I was sorry that I missed the build up to the Dominion reveal.

Hmm... Does "The Fallen" count? Otherwise, I can only give the boring "What You Leave Behind" answer.

Yeah...The Jem'Hadar was not an episode you would have wanted to miss.

It made for a very scary ending to that season....which I fretted about all summer!

I missed The Passenger the first time round for one reason or another and never managed to catch it until Season 1 was released on DVD.

I'm going to guess something in the 3rd season. I watched most of seasons 4-7 during their first run and saw sporadic episodes from seasons 1-3. So, I probably caught the last one when I went back and watched seasons 1-3 in their entirety after the initial run was over. I can't remember which one specifically though.

Tear's of the Prohphets and Time's Orphan. During DS9's original run we switched from cable to satellite right as the 6th season started, and lost all the local channels. As a result I missed the entire 6th season and a good portion of the 7th. I eventually made up the episodes but not those two. I intentionally put off Tear's of the Prophets once I found out Jadzia died. I really like Jadzia as a character. That was the last of my "new" DS9 episodes.

I still haven't watched The Valiant yet even though I have it on my hard drive. The Red Squad annoyed me when I first encountered it in TNG.

I think there are other episodes I still haven't seen. The one with Sisko as a sci-fi writer on olde Earth. I havn't seen that.
