You caught me at my weak point and that's ENT. I stopped watching early on and I'll admit I didn't pay as much attention as I should've the one week I binged it seven years ago. It's my Star Trek blind spot.
But I get the sense that the state of Empire in DSC isn't exactly what it was in ENT. So my point still stands.
Maybe things have fallen apart, which is why Starfleet hasn't dealt them much between the two series. The Klingons might've been too busy fighting and arguing with each other and possibly other races.
