What type of fan-fiction, based on what you have seen of the promos and wild theories out there from Star Trek Discovery, an even The Orville, Do you expect to come out of it all?

Edit: Now that you all have started watching the show what sort of fanfic do you expect or have seen come out based on what you have seen so far?

If there is some sort of central conflict, No doubt there will be fanfics written from the point of view of other ships/crews. Honestly it depends on the tone of the show, what the universe "feels" like, etc.

Well, so much Trek fan-fic is done up as a sit-com, but Orville is billed as a sit-com, so perhaps fan-fic authors will turn it into a serious sci-fi setting.

There's something amusing to the idea of trying to turn a Seth MacFarlene piece into a dramatic retelling.

I don't think we can make some guesses until we see complete episodes of either show. There can be plenty of speculation and supposition. However, I would practice enough patience to wait until the shows are aired on television or online.

Of course, I am among that large amount of people who hate that Star Trek: Discovery will only be aired on television once and then we have to shell out our hard-earned gold-pressed latinum to watch it online. I have nothing against CBS but they have made some wrong decisions and they have gotten greedy.

What happened to when we used to look at the stars and imagine the impossible? These days we stay within a space of confined thinking and we worry about feelings. Guidelines are not rules. The fans should be allowed to impress whatever they're feeling and to imagine whatever their hearts desire. I realize that I've gotten off track here.

I'm just on a ranty roll.

When I write, I write what I feel. I write for me and when I share what I write, I'm not looking for kudos or validation. I'm looking to share a story and to make people happy. Seeing people smile because of something I did, makes me happy.

What happened to that?

Okay, I'm done speaking now.

My apologies to the moderators and the administrators and to anyone who might feel disheartened or angered by my words. It wasn't my intent except to speak my mind.

Which I bought on sale from Wal-Mart for the low-low price of $9.99!

There will certainly be an abundance of fan fiction of the type that is not suitable for discussion on this site, as there seems to plenty of that for just about every show and movie out there. :wtf:

Ah yes, one of those universal rules of the internet and all that :D

I'm waiting for the walking dead/trek crossover given that the main character in STD was a character just recently killed in TWD.
*Chuckle* I know right? I was like man, zombie killer on the bridge! there is definitely going to be a spike in having that crossover pair.

Filthy, disgusting and perverted. Just like everything else out there.

And maybe one or two decent novelettes, which will be immediately contradicted by the next season.

Not all of them are. There are a lot of fanfics out there that arn't PWP. In fact in many cases i come across slow burn romances, gen, and so forth. The are more predominant then the PWP's.

There's one Star Wars EU fanfic I genuinely think was better than the ending the EU got.

About 95% of fan fiction is terrible, 3-4% is average, .60% is good, and .40% is amazing.

You just have to look for the .40 out 100.
