What TOS cliches do you want to see?

Another vote here for the fight music. It'll never happen, but it'd rule if it did...

I would love to hear the TOS fight music (I think it was composed by Gerald Fried) during one of the movie trailers. Seriously.

They could ceate a trailer with a "montage sequence" of action scenes from the upcoming film and put it to the TOS fight music. Of course they would need to do a traditional trailer also, not just the one I described. It would definitely make the old TOS fans (even the casual fans) take notice since that music is so ingrained in our consciousness. I think it could work.

JR Kirk, that idea for the trailer montage to the TOS fight music?

Hell YEAH, that's a good idea...

Thank You...
...and to clarify, there should be NO voice-over -- just quickly-edited movie scenes and fight music, then end it all with a single bass drum reverb (or cymbals crescendo) and one of those retro-movie posters that simply reads "STAR TREK, stardate 12-25-08"

It would be a little reminiscent of the old Mission Impossible TV show opening (without the actor credits).

Aside from some very minor stuff (Vulcan neck-pinch; a "live long and prosper" or a "hailing frequencies open"), I really don't want to see TOS cliches. In fact, I would like to see a more series version of TOS. Goodbye ultra-bright colors that look silly, cheesy music, tacky jokes that aren't funny, go-go boots and miniskirts, and anything else that screams "1960s".

Bad ASS, man. Get to work...

Kirk bamboozling a really cheap-looking supercomputer with cod logic, causing it to explode comically.

Aliens with god-like powers who behave like spoiled pubescent teenagers.

References to historical events less than 30 years from the release date of the movie that will not be fulfilled except through extremely contrived novelizations.

The Vasquez Rocks.

If there is any representation of Academy life included in this film, it'd be fun to see cadets on a training mission to Vasquez Rocks and have it identified as Vasquez Rocks.

McCoy saying (to Spock): "Why you pointy-eared, green blooded, inhuman, (insert insulting adjective here), Vulcan !

*sigh* Good times.

I really REALLY want to hear the unused-since-TOS "Kirk's Command" musical motif... the OTHER fanfare, in other words... (wish I could figure out a good way to "post music" on here... I have a clip of the tune in question...)
